My Week at Laroussi

As Mehdi opened the gate to Laroussi, we got our first view of this magnificent lake. Having never been there before, myself, Pete Smith and Les Brink stood in awe at the beauty of the place.

Big Fish on the Feed
May 2013 by Roy Van Goor

After a 6 hour drive from Holland we arrived at the gates of Laroussi. Mehdi must have heard the cars stopping, because the gates to heaven opened almost immediately. We greeted Mehdi and had a little chat about the normal goings-on in life.

A 70lb'er - What A Week!
Apr 2012 by Kevin Mellor

Now, we can't really tell you how to fish Laroussi per say, but I can tell you what Andrew Redfeam and myself did when we fished there the last week in March 2012, when our results certainly surpassed our expectations!

A Dream Session at Laroussi
Aug 2010 by Chris Evans

Having had a baby last year I was certain my angling in 2010 would be limited. My wife was keen to get away and have a relaxed week so what could be better than a week by the lake with the odd day out sightseeing and dabbling in the local fare.

Laroussi Magic
Apr 2009 by Lee Fletcher

This was a second trip to Laroussi in France, in our opinion, one of the best lakes available. After a not too productive trip in November 2008 due to poor weather, we were not put off simply because of the massive potential this lake holds for a specimen of carp, cat and sturgeon angles alike.

The 24th of May…we arrived after a long 6 hour drive at the gates of Etang de Laroussi. This time there were 3 of us, Marco, Robert & myself. The lake was fully booked (1 more Dutch angler and 3 English guys).

L’ Etang de Laroussi
Oct 2004 by Patrice Buard

After a warm welcome from the owner Mr Daho my friends (Alexandre LEVOIR and Henri STERCKS) and I entered the venue. What a magnificent lake - prettily wooded with a wooden chalet next to the car park housing the toilet block with hot shower, fridge etc all immaculately clean, and with a large number of photos on the walls of anglers holding their magnificent trophies from lake.

A Week on the Point Swim
Sep 2004 by David Keep

I was really looking forward to this - a week away from the phones at work, getting back to doing the very thing that prompted me to start Angling Lines in the first place - my love of carp fishing.

The Etang de Larroussi is a new venue for 2005, run by French carp enthusiast Medhi Daho, and is set in the Sarthe region of France just south of Le Mans . A 15 acre gravel pit is has been stocked with carp, grass carp and sturgeon.

Carpe Magazine Article
Jun 2004 by Alexandre Levoir

It was a telephone call from Jean-Noel Grosbois, one of my colleagues that persuaded me to head for his home department – the Sarthe. Objective: to be the first to wet a line in an old gravel pit, until now closed to the public. The venue was soon to open its doors as a day ticket fishery.
