News at Lillypool
2017 off to a good start
A new lake record at Lillypool, and a new common PB for bailiff Richard too. 53lb 2oz.
You can watch a video of the full session including the capture of another 40lb+ below...
A little later than planned, but at least ready for next season, as planned! The bedroom is done and furnished and ready for use. That said, I'm hoping the fish keep eating and the beds stay empty for many a week to come!
A great note from Derek Hayward, who has returned from Lillypool recently...
Just wanted to give recognition where it is due , the bailiff Richard at Lillypool is a credit to Angling lines , and has restored our faith in taking out bookings in the future with Angling lines.
Richard could see I was struggling on the Monday and the fish were not in my swim , he spent 2 hours on Monday night with me advising me of different tips and methods to try , on the Tuesday yes the wind did change and the fish moved into my swim but his help and advice and his whole approach was totally brilliant and if there is a reward for the top bailiff of the month I would like to recommend him . His help me and to the other guys was second to none and made it a real holiday for us consequently I caught 11 fish and had a fantastic holiday along with 3 other guys.
I would certainly recommend Angling lines now and will probably book again in a couple of years at Lillybelle the sister lake where Richard is also Bailiff .
Thanks again and I hope you will send this onto Richard .
Have a great weekend
Another Lake record
Our big common has graced the bank twice again this week, both times to will, who broke his Pb and increased our lake record to 52lb 8oz. The boys had a fantastic week all round with Liam breaking his pb with a 38lb 5oz mirror and Aaron breaking his pb common with a 35lb 12oz. 54 fish in total including 2x 50's. 2x40's. 18x30's.
The records keep tumbling
After a fantastic first week to the season on Lillypool. Craig Sheffield and Kevin Dunnett continued the trend with a fantastic weeks fishing, 52 fish to 51lb 10oz banked, the lake record broken twice and numerous Pb's for kevin.
Record breaking start to the season.
We welcomed the Miller brothers Jamie and Grieg for our season opener, both of the boys on their first trip to france. It hasn't been ideal weather for the first few weeks of the season but after a walk of the lake we all felt confident of a few fish.
The guys both opened their account for the week on Sunday, each banking a new pb at 35lb. Fast forward to Tuesday and Greig was to increase his PB to 43lb 6oz with a fantastic looking mirror. The best was yet to come as the early hours of wednesday morning Greig was to increase his PB and break our lake record with his fantastic 50lb 5oz Common.
Wednesday afternoon and Jamie banked his first ever 30+ common at 34lb dead. Thursday morning and Jamie was also to join the 40 club with his new Pb of 41lb 5oz. The guys finished on Friday morning due to work commitments with 27 fish banked, 13 for Greig and 14 for Jamie. A fantastic start to the season on Lillypool.
Lillypool was actually closed for the first week of the season, due to works on the cabin, so no fish in this news item. We have however made terrific progress on the addition of a bedroom.
As winter draws to a close and spring is on the doorstep, its time to get some lines wet. Despite having severe man flu (ok a bit of a cold), I braved the freezing night to try my hand with a 24 hour session. I managed 8 runs, banking 6 fish to 37lb, i am somewhat annoyed with the losses, but a fantastic start to the season on Lillypool none the less.
