Rules at Oakwood

Oakwood is a picturesque lake containing what we believe to be some of the most attractive carp in France. Our aim is to create a relaxing, high quality venue with outstanding fishing. We take great pride in the condition of our carp and the fishery so with this in mind the following rules apply;

• Please arrive at the lake between 12pm & 1pm and depart no later than 10am
   
• 3 rods maximum.  No rods to be left unattended at any time - if you are caught with your rods out talking to your friend at the other end of the lake you will be asked to leave without refund
  
  
• No braided mainline, minimum breaking strain for mono is 15lb.  No lead core or leaders
  
  
• No dangerous fixed lead rigs and all rigs to incorporate at least 30cm of rig tubing above the lead to reduce the lifting of scales during the fight
  
  
• Micro-barbed hooks only and no hooks bigger than a size 4.  No bent hooks such as Gardner mugga’s, Fox series 5 or nailor types
  
  
• No particles or nuts.  Frozen boilies only.  Freezer facilities available and the legendry Baitcraft T1 boilies available on site
  
  
• No sacking of fish at any time.  Carp antiseptic is compulsory, to treat all hook holds and any damage (if you do not have a carp care kit you will be required to purchase one on site)
  
  
• All carp to be photographed in the swim they are caught and returned as quickly as possible
  
  
• Please ensure your un-hooking mat is adequate for large carp – please no postage size mats which are poorly padded.  Weigh slings must be the rigid arm design, which do not fold the fish in two during weighing. If you are unsure what is adequate please view the Oakwood Fisheries stocking video available on the Angling Lines website which shows a mat that offers total protection and a ridged arm weigh sling. These can be rented for 10€ a week upon arrival for the two if you wish to save vital space in the car

• Bait boats only allowed on exclusive bookings or by agreement with on-site bailiff

• No fires.  No drunken and anti-social behaviour.  Fishing permitted only in designated swims
