Overview
The Roseau complex of 2 lakes lies in NE France and is just 2½ hours from Calais.
The Large Lake is 10 acres with a stock estimate of around 600 carp - that's a lot of carp and it makes for plenty of action! The average weight is around 27lb but there's a huge head of 30lb+ carp and several of 40lb+, including three 40lb+ commons.
The Small Lake is 2 acres with a stock of 150 carp up to 46.06 (the largest caught in 2011) - again a very healthy stock level. The average weight is around 30lb and there are three known different 40lb+ mirrors.
Larger fish are known to reside in both lakes... so 2012 makes for an interesting year because the lucky angler to bank a new lake record in either lake will win a week's free fishing at Roseau. A leader board will be run at the fishery and here on the Latest News page so you'll be able to keep up to date as the season progresses.
If you really want to treat yourself and be driven to & from the lake why not take a fully inclusive trip with the well respected Clearview Carp Tours. These trips have been running for the last 2 years and have been a great success. But if your idea of fishing France is to drive yourself that’s not a problem either as there’s plenty of Drive & Survive spaces available too.
You can learn more about Clearview Carp Tours at the bottom of this page.
Here’s a feedback quote from 2012;
Where do I start, apart from saying I’ve just had the best fishing trip of my life! The food got better and better as the week went on & anything I wanted I got. I am leaving my first trip to France feeling I have learned a lot and have gained some friends. Both Roy and Dave spent a lot of time in my swim showing me how to take some really good pictures. I could go on to say a lot more but I would be here all night! A big thank you to the whole team… I can't wait to come back and see them all again.
Kevin Mazey, April ‘12
And this feedback is by no means exceptional – just take a few minutes to look through the feedback pages and you’ll see why Roseau is such a popular venue. Roseau is quite simply a cracking lake complex with a great social atmosphere.

The Large Lake is 12 acres and has flat grassy banks which are ideal for setting up bivvies.
There are 11 swims for a maximum of 10 anglers. Baitboats are allowed.
However, the land surrounding Roseau is reclaimed marsh land and this means that during periods of heavy rain, particularly early season, it can get very muddy. Please go prepared.
The swims are not accessible by car but the lake have a quad bike and trailer... so no need to hump heavy tackle!

The Large Lake is a great choice for the angler looking for non-stop action.
It has an awesome number of fish with 10 runs a day more than possible.
Average size is around mid 20’s - and there are lots & lots of 30lb+ fish with 40’s making an occasional appearance.

Please Note; 2013 will be the last year the fully inclusive trips will run. Roseau will be 100% drive & survive next year.
Why not treat yourself to one of Clearviews fully inclusive trips – pure carp fishing luxury with all the hassle taken away.
Here’s how Clearview boss, Roy Fulton, describes the trips;
"The meeting point is at the Relyon car parks in Dover. Relyon has organised an account for us so you get discounted parking. Once all the cars are parked and tackle loaded, it’s off to Dover for the ferry. Onboard the ferry there will be plenty of time to look around, have a meal and take a look in the shops.
The ferry journey takes around 1½ hours and once in France it takes about 2½ hours to drive to the lakes... so it’s time to have a nap or just take in the scenery.
At Roseau we’ll be met by the bailiff and you can have a quick look around the lake. When you come back it’s time for a cuppa and the draw for swims. If there are anglers who want to fish together in a double swim that’s not a problem.
All swims produce fish... so don’t get worried that you’re not going to catch! If for some reason you’re not catching we’ll try to move you into another swim. We’ll always do our best to help you catch. We like to treat everyone on a personal basis so if there is anything you’re not happy with please tell us.
If you’ve pre-ordered bait that will be handed out and off you go to get set up. We have a quad bike and trailer... so no need to hump heavy tackle!
Breakfast and evening meals are included – you can take them back to your swim or you can eat them in the restaurant, whichever you prefer.
Free hot water for tea and coffee is always available, alternatively if you fancy a cuppa just go to the kitchen and the kettle will always be hot. Lunches and snacks are also available so if you fancy a snack, or just a Mars Bar, that’s not a problem.
After a hectic week’s fishing the day to go home is the worst thing in the world! You have to pack up and say goodbye to the fishery and friends you have met during the week. Once back at Dover it’s time to say goodbye. I hope you will have enjoyed your week with Clearview and it will have given you a taste of French fishing at its best... and hopefully make you want to come back soon!"
