Details of your catches: 10 x 20lb+ 10 x 10lb+ 1 x 5lb mostly mirror carp with the bigger fish all being 6. 1 grass carp 23 1/4lb (which we think is the lake record)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs: Boilies with matching paste fished over toms pellets was efffective. Also snow man rigs over a bed of boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected? Excellent

General comments: What a great week in a superb location. I must say that visually this is the best lake i have ever fished, truly stunning and isolated from the outside world.

Tom and liz are excellent hosts and made us all feel very welcome.

Fishing was slow due to the weather being in the 30's some days and having thunder storms the next. However the quality of fishing is very high with all of the catches giving an excellent fight!

Details of your catches: 20 fish caught mostly late evening to 7.30am including 18 mirrors ranging from 10lb to 24lb 2oz, 1 common 26lbs 2oz and a linear 21lbs 5oz all in pristine condition. All the fish put up a furious fight hence also losing 14 fish!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs: 15mm rhaja spice boilies tipped with yellow plastic corn over tom's pellets and hemp, lines pinned down with backleads. Left hand single swim to far margin being the most productive.

General comments: Tom's lake is a great venue and liz & tom are fantastic hosts. The gite and facilities are spot on. Be warned.... Not only will you catch several lbs of fish...liz's excellent food package will also have you gaining a few extra lbs around the waistine. All in all, a superb week.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs: Tom's pellets with hemp and boilies over them. Need lots of bait to hold them.

General comments: Landing nets not up to job, they had 3 and 2 had broken arms and taped up.

Details of your catches: During the week we had 36 fish between us. Good mix of commons and mirrors. Smallest fish was a 12plb common and biggest a 27plb mirror. All fish were in great condition and fight very hard.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs: Bottom baits seem to work best along with pinning your line down. Fishing the far margines and the island is the way forward and you will catch plenty of fish. We found the best time to catch is during the hours of darkness with the odd fish during the day.

General comments: Liz makes excellent food and you couldn't ask for better hosts. Yet again we will def be returning.

Details of your catches: Caught 23 fish in total, including a total of six 20lb+ fish. Best mirror was 25lb.2oz. Best common was 22lb.8oz. All fish caught where caught during the day nothing after 11.15 at night. All the fish where in excellent condition and put up a really good fight.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs: Fished cell bottom baits over a bed of toms pellets around the island and along the far margins.

General comments: Lovely peaceful lake with excellent accommodation. Tom and liz are excellent hosts and nothing is to much trouble. Liz is also a great cook i enjoyed some lovely meals during my stay. This lake and accommodation would also suit a small family.
