Go one better and buy the ultimate carp anglers camera - a CANON POWERSHOT G5 or G6. These both come with flip screens and remote controls, so you can frame the shot perfectly with the remote and fire the shutter with the remote which is about half the size of a credit card ! Unfortunately Canon has stopped making both these cameras, and the new version the G9 does not have the flip screen. You can pick up a G5 or G6 on ebay for a very nice price, they really are fantastic bits of kit and second hand ones tend to have been very well looked after.

I use the exact same set up, except i have the 8 mega pixel camera whereas i know Paul uses the 10 mega pixel.

This set up really does make self photography really simple, and if used with a lightweight tripod it really isn't much to carry.

The biggest benefits with these camera's are the flip screen and the night shot facility. The flip screen enables you to see exactly what you are photographing whilst you are doing (as it is facing you). The night shot facilty allows you to do exactly the same thing at night as it fires a red light onto you which can be easily seen on the flip screen. This facility means good shots at night so you don't have to worry about sacking fish overnight if you want that trophy shot, which has a lot waters now don't allow sacking of fish is a big advantage.

      Cheers,
                 Pat
