As you may be aware, there is a fuel shortage throughout France due to action by disgruntled French workers.

Currently, in my local area, there is NO fuel available at all or for the forseeable short term. I am led to beleive that as and when garages do receive fuel it will be rationed to a maximum of 10E per vehicle until the dispute is resolved.

I have already received e-mails from next weeks clients asking about the situation; I can only say what I have been told by friends who were around when this situation arose last in France.  I have been told by several French friends that the last dispute ran for at least 2 weeks, with several additional weeks to return to normal service.

I will be advising any client who contacts me to arrive in country with a full tank of fuel and sufficent to return in Gerry cans as this situation is likely to worsen before its resolution. (Note from Angling Lines – Please see last Blog article re restrictions on the ferry on Gerry cans)

Luckily, last weeks clients bought my own emergency supply of Diesel which got them home but I am now without spare for myself.

I will further advise when I understand more.

Regards,  Danny
