We have a section on our Website where Danny Turtle, Gigantica bailiff answers any questions on Gigantica. You can read all the Q & A’s here… but here’s the most recent;
Hello Dan , I was wondering if you sell t-shirts on site? Reason I ask is I like the blue one with Gigantica on it… Danny Fairbrass wears it in the “introduction video ” to Gigantica, or is it one Dan had made special? They would look good in a photo.
Also am I allowed to use stick mixes (tuna ,maize bit of robin red & crushed boilie …and maybe some of your own particle. See you in April
Danny:
We sell t-shirts as well as hoodies with the Gigantica logo. T-shirts are 15E and Hoddies are 30E.
You can bring and use your stick mixes. In the past we have advised against there use due to the bream being an issue but we have strived to remove as many as possible and now it is a realistic option, which Im sure will help catch the additional carp. We also sell a nice particle mix which consists of mainly larger pulses and nuts.
I hope this information has answered your original questions, feel free to contact me should you require any additional information.
Danny

Richard:
Hi,
I’ve been in touch with Angling Lines as you mentioned last week and we’re on track for coming to Gigantica next April. Can I ask what the process is for the draw for swims if you have both coach customers and drive & survive – is there one draw where everyone is included or something else?
Thanks
Richard
Danny:
Richard,
We run a single draw. Once all clients have walked around the lake, we draw numbers out of a hat. Number one obviously picks the first swim and so on…….
I look forward to meeting you.
Danny

Glen:
Danny Hi
How’s the lake fishing as about to book a week this month also where can lay my hands on bait rules for the lake,
Q will the colossus biv fit in all the swim ?
Regards
Glen
Danny:
Glen,
The lake fished well last week, with a new 70lb fish, a 53 and several 40z amongst 40+ fish.
Bait rules are simple, no preserved boilies, frezzer baits only, all particle and pellets – only Gigantica bait supplied by ourselves. You can use dedicated hookbaits like tigers, brasils and home made pop ups.
As for a Colossus, probably in about half our swims but please bear in mind that we run a draw for swims, and the result dictates your swim choice – with no provision for bivvy size.
I hope this has answered your questions, but feel free to ask additional questions should you need more answers.
I look forward to meeting you in the near future.
Regrads,
Danny

Daniel:
Hello Danny,
I have just booked for me and my pal to fish your lovely looking lake march 5th 2011 for a week just wanting to get your opinion on that time of year and how much bait and the tackle I will be using.
how has march fished in past years?
bait wise I will pre order or purchase about 30kg of cell mainline boilies (do you think I will need any particle or do you think boilies will be just as good on there own)
my setup will be 15lb fluoro carbon mainline through to silt coloured korda safzone leader with a korda size 6 hook link i like to keep it simple and safe for not only ease but the safety of the fish, will that be ok or would you recommend something different?
hope to here from you soon buddy
yours thankfully
Daniel Rushton
Danny:
Daniel,
March, the fishing is totally dependant on the weather. Last year, obviously, with the terribly long and harsh winter, our spring fishing began very slowly, as did all the lakes in the area.
If we have another long and harsh winter, then unfortunately, Id expect another slow beginning too the year. However, at this time, its looking like it may be a long wet winter, which is exactly what we need, too restore the natural water tables level, and give the fish a change to pile on some weight.
Fishing wise, the only thing Id advise is a size 4 hook. smaller seems to heighten the amount of losses during the fight. Safe and simple is good.
I hope this has answered your questions, feel free to ask me any additional questions you may feel nessacary too ask, that’s what I’m here for.
Regards,
Danny

Glen:
Hi Danny
I am going to book a week in October through Angling Lines. It may be a silly ask but would recommend from your angling perspective October to be good month to fish the lake or should a leave it until the winter months? As a river Nene angler for many years I’ve also had better result catching 30′s and 40′s from October to Feb. I would appreciate your opinion.
Danny:
Glen,
I would say that October is one of, if not THE best month to visit Gigantica. Previous results prove its an exceptional time to be fishing. As the winters are far harsher here, perhaps this has something to do with it but whatever the reason, it’s a very good time to be angling here.
I hope this has helped clarify your request.
I look forward to possibly meeting you in the future.
Regards,
Danny
