Once again it’s November and I feel happy that it is all over, happy because I now have time to do things that I like to do, ie; shooting, fishing and what I like most of all flying Sparkie my hawk, but also sad because I will miss all the banter with the people I enjoy being with and the swapping of stories, these are the people Sammy and myself will look forward to seeing again next season.
Now back to business! We have just finished putting a further one and half ton of good size fish eg; 28lb to 51lb into the main Lake. Over this last season we extracted a lot of smaller fish upto 15lb from out of the main lake with the help of a lot of our fishermen. We had excellent success with our own Lac du Val bait specials being made to our own specification by Shaun Harrison of Quest Baits (well done Shaun) and we are pleased to announce that you will still be able to pay in sterling for this once again next year.
A big thank you to all the people who brought us our yearly fix of pork pies and chocolate, where would we be without these good people.
I was also happy to spend my 70th birthday with the lads and lasses on the lake, champagne and cake flowed nicely.

.
Our winter work commenced with the removal of the big tree out of the water on the far side of the lake as so many fish where lost here last season, and the cutting down of the trees over hanging the path, so no more banging your heads lads.

Both the chalets are now fitted with flat screen TVs and new soft furnishings all down to Sammy and all of you lads will be pleased to see the arrival of the new carp mobile for transporting all your luggage up and down the lake on arrival and departure.
.
Also the new polo shirts have arrived with the emblem of Lac du Val 40s/50s/60s so anyone wanting to order one before next year I will be at the Sandown Carp show on 28th & 29th November price £12.50, please let me know.
CONGRATULATIONS go to Dave Hutton who waited over 42 years for a 40lb carp and smashed it this year in his favourite swim I have allowed him next season to bring with him his little dog
For company, also Peter Wilks who landed his first 40lber at the age of 73 (nice one Pete) Also to Brian Rowe who after 8yrs landed a 42lb 13oz mirror, and finally to Dave Prowse who won the yearly prize with a 52lb 4oz mirror.
So all that remains to say is look at all the photo’s and watch out in December for the other 19 big fish to arrive, making 141 fish new stock for this year.
