		<description>Hi Dave,

I don&#039;t personally like using braid right through for my fishing.. I know this is a personal thing and some do swear by it. I find the &#039;give&#039; you get in mono acts as a cushioning effect and gives you more latitude when playing a big fish. So &#039;No&#039; I don&#039;t find any problems in the stretch of mono at long range.
I have used braid but I really don&#039;t like the feel, I find the grating, lunging type of fight you get unpleasant.

I don&#039;t like the far greater strength of braids either, I see people using 30lb braid straight through.. What happens when you get snagged or cast into a tree??

I use a braided leader for the reasons stated in the post to transmit all the power of the cast into the blank.

Finally I use fine braid on my marker rod and don&#039;t find I get problems with wind knots. Although I do use a shot nylon leader on the marker which helps eliminate this.

Regards

		<description>Hi Gareth,

You say that you normally use 10lb mono with a braid shock leader, do you ever use braid as the main line? the strength / diameter ratio is better with braid but also does the stretch in mono not cause problems at 150 yards? The ability of braid to end up in wind knots is obviously an issue so your thoughts would be appreciated.</description>

		<description>Hi Roy,
Don&#039;t know if I&#039;ll be able to film Mehdi, but I plan to do a short film with Mark Hutchinson in the near future. If all comes together I&#039;l hopefully get some more tips on the subject... but yes Mehdi is an awesome caster.

Regards

		<description>Hi,

When i was fishing Laroussi last year Mehdi came by and showed me some spots on the opposite bank, I told him I never could reach them

He watched me make a cast and gave me some pointers and tips to get more distance

Those little hints made my casting ability much better.
And I was able to hit the marked spots without any problems

That’s another big + to visit venue’s like Laroussi, you often will meet other people that will add things to your fishing.
He also showed me his skills with the cobra stick, that man hits unbelievable distances!

Maybe film him some time when he demonstrates his casting methods
