Dale, Lee & Gary had a great week at Beaurepaire a couple of weeks ago (w/c 6th August) catching the new lake record at 51lb 10oz !!!

They had 11 fish in total…9 carp to 51.10 and 2 cats (one at 50lb and one at 39.05)

Father & son, Dale & Lee, had a fantastic highlight too… a lovely brace of fish; one the new lake record at 51.10 netted within seconds of dad’s 45.08.

Successful tactics were boilies over a party mix with corn and hemp added, plus some halibuts on top of the beds of bait.

Steven Thomas & his 3 mates had a great week at Beaurepaire last week (w/c 28th August) taking 75 fish in total…  2 x 40′s (biggest 44 lb), 30 x 30′s (biggest 39 lb), 28 x 20′s (biggest 29 lb), 6 x doubles, 3 x bream and 6 x cats biggest 44 lb

Successful tactics were Baitcraft T1 boilies tipped with plastic corn.  They put out a good spread of boilies with the throwing stick and fished single boilies tipped with corn  and a small stick over the top. They felt this tactic definatly picked up the bigger fish.

Beaurepaire in its summer glory

Rob Johnson’s party of 4 anglers has just had a massive catch at Beaurepaire.  They took 121 fish;

  • 90 carp: 1 x 41lb, 3 x 30lb+, 41 x 20lb, the rest doubles
  • 23 cats to 41.12lb
  • 8 x grass carp to 24lb

Here’s what Rob had to say;

“Every tactic worked!  Rahja Spice boilies, tiger nut over partiblend, popped up corn over partiblend, large halibut pellets over smaller pellets.  For all those who suggest this is not a runs water you are wrong. The days were hectic & we bought our rods in at night for some much needed rest!! Lots of fun & a very enjoyable week.”

I spoke to Fran on the phone on 18th november about budget fishing around Calais for 3 to 4 people in May.  All info welcome…ps excellent service

Hi Jordan,

We have some cracking venues which are relatively inexpensive.

Beaurepaire around 2- 2.5 hours from Calais is cracking but already full for the whole of May. We do have 17th April still free? For three guys bivvy fishing the week with a transit sized van crossing on the ferry would work out around £762 = only £254 each. Water levels here do vary, So the peninsula swims have, early season been underwater as the Seine is close by, but  2009 ended with very low water levels so we are not expecting them to be high at the start of next season. I’d definitely give it a go.

I also have to say that Roseau is also near to the ferry port and is a super venue with plenty of runs and carp to over 50lbs. Back to former glories this lake is well worth a look. w/c 15th May is available and for 3 anglers in a van inc ferry again works out at less than £312 each. If you go in March there is a free food package included special offer!! If your budget is really tight look at Lillypool available only for w/c 22nd May. This lake can be booked exclusive and for 4 anglers with a van/minibus on the Dover to Calais ferry works out at around £240 each and it’s exclusive!!

There are some great early and late season offers to be had in March and October but with May being effectively prime season for fishing, cheap bargains on good lakes simply don’t happen. These lakes are very competitively priced and you only have to look at the feedback section on the website to see what I mean.

Finally I’d look at Malvoisine. 4 anglers fishing here with a minibus on the Dover to Calais ferry would be just under £235 each in May! Molyneux is also a great option but around £50 dearer pp. Check out his latest stocking addition in latest news!

Plenty of options but just give us a call for more details… we are there to help you choose the right holiday. After all a bargains not a bargain unless you enjoy it!
