After 3 weeks of waiting for the spares I have at last managed to get the tractor fixed so I can cut the grass. It will take me a couple of days now as it’s all got so long!
Best wishes, John

The Bletiere swing
After only 3 years I have managed, after a lot of planning, to get the swing up for our young visitors. Being a man I did not want to rush and so I planned it properly… anyway that’s my excuse!

I’m often asked what we do in the winter & do we get bored. So I thought I’d shoot a short video showing you the work I’ve been doing in the woods behind the lake, plus a little tour of the lovely walks you can take through them.

What is it?
Guests often arrive here at Bletiere and ask what the plants are that grow in the trees looking like a big ball?
And most are surprised when we tell them it’s mistletoe and you will see it everywhere over here. Having seen the price they charge for it in the UK at Christmas we are tempted to pick a van load and come back and sell it at the market!

A broken drive shaft put paid to this week’s mowing

After 4 years lesley and I have a pretty good routine for changeover days on Saturdays & we like to get all the noisy jobs out the way before the next guests arrive. Last Saturday as always I went to cut the grass and found the drive shaft to the cutter had broke! One of life mysteries as it was ok when I left it the week before… but it meant no grass cutting this week.
