Lac du Val ‘s final stock fish have just been put in our stock pond ready for March / April movement into the main lake.
These 36 beautiful mirrors arrived on Saturday 14th Jan and are hand picked fish farm stock.
The largest was 37lb 8oz and the smallest 27lb 7oz and all lovely fat fish in fantastic condition. So this brings the total to 52 new carp for 2012.
I’m hoping the first lads on will help with the netting of the stock pond to rehome them into the main lake.

Is it that time of year again… so here’s the Lac du Val 2011 round-up;
BIG CARP WINNER…
First of all congratulations to Gary Wilson who won the yearly prize for the biggest fish of 2011 – a nice mirror of 53lb 12oz. Gary’s family Leanne and Darrel also had a fantastic week with 5 x 40′s and 11 x 30′s… well done guys!

MORE NEW CARP STOCK ARRIVES…
16 x new carp for us and not one below 31lb! Included 9 x 30′s & 5 more 40′s up to 48lb 4oz and 2 x 50′s
All are in beautiful condition and there is more to come in January (some photos on line). I’ll post here when they arrive.
I’M STILL CHASING THE BULL…
I’m still managing to fish at weekend with the new bait for 2012 (which I’ve started introducing at a steady 3 bags a week in readiness for next year) and up to now I have managed 11 fish with 6 x forties, plus my friend Terry had a 52lb mirror.
The one fish that is still eluding me is the one I call “The Bull”. So many of the lads have been smashed and I can only put it down to this fellow, but as I don’t night fish it cuts down my chances quite a bit. So I shall keep trying for the big fellow and hope she comes through the day time.

All that remains is to say a Merry Christmas to everyone & both Sammy and I look forward to seeing all our old freinds in the New Year! My Christmas day will be spent fishing as it always was in the past!

Here at Lac du Val we are always striving to improve things and this was done once again by building a new pontoon on the swim across from the lakeside chalet.
This will improve the room for casting and make it easier to land fish. The new pontoon is fitted with anti slip and fish friendly material.

Geoff, Ken Ayres, Dave Hutton & Tony O’Neil have just had a great session at Lac du Val (w/c 3rd Sept) taking 41 fish, including this superb 51lb 2oz common. They also had another 3 x 40′s to 46lb.
Successful tactics were snowmen, single pop-ups tipped, bottom baits, running leads. Bait was pellet and Lac du Val boilies.
