Magnificent 41.03 winter mirror

What a days winter fishing!

The tactic I used was to roll our boilies in the new paste we had made for us by Shaun at Quest. So each boilie had its own paste outer shell.

It proved to be very successful to say the least by me landing 12 cracking fish including 2 x 40s, 5 x 30s and 5 big 20s… and this in the middle of winter on a very cold day, this must be good!

I started fishing at 8am and finished at 6pm. My baiting up was done with Lac du Val pellets. I think the paste had a special affect making the bait taste fresh and the flavour release being quicker in cold water

Best Regards, Dave.

Once again it’s November and I feel happy that it is all over, happy because I now have time to do things that I like to do, ie; shooting, fishing and what I like most of all flying Sparkie my hawk, but also sad because I will miss all the banter with the people I enjoy being with and the swapping of stories, these are the people Sammy and myself will look forward to seeing again next season.

Now back to business! We have just finished putting a further one and half ton of good size fish eg; 28lb to 51lb into the main Lake. Over this last season we extracted a lot of smaller fish upto 15lb from out of the main lake with the help of a lot of our fishermen. We had excellent success with our own Lac du Val bait specials being made to our own specification by Shaun Harrison of Quest Baits (well done Shaun) and we are pleased to announce that you will still be able to pay in sterling for this once again next year. continue reading…

 Hi there,

We’ve just received some early season reports from Lac du Val. This lake with its top quality accommodation and fabulous stock of carp has been a popular choice with anglers this year.

Here are some of the catch reports to date from Lake Owner, Sammy Harding:

Lee Bullock managed this super 37lb 12oz mirror in the snow. It was his first fish and was followed by a 37lb 6oz common, both were PB’s

The fish fell to Lac du Val special boilies fished on a snowman rig over chopped boilies and pellet. The 31 year old Computer engineer from Orpington was on his first time in France.

28th March a young lady Megan Sitko caught a 43lb 10oz common her PB in the freezing cold and snow.  She went on, with her husband, to land a further 4 thirties to 38lb 4oz and 29 twenties.

We’ll keep you up to date with more Lac du Val news as it comes in over the season.

Looking for a new venue for a 2009 trip.  Needs to have a good head of fish above 50lb (PB) and a good head of 40’s, 30’s etc and not many below that sort of weight.  Any suggestions?

Cheers Mike

Margot’s big commonHi Mike,

Thanks for your query. 2009 is a fair way off so you’ll pretty much be able to take your pick of the venues we have on offer.

Firstly I’d say check out the brochure and internet site carefully to draw up a short list of the type of venue you are looking for.

You mention fish size, but you don’t stipulate any other criteria. How far do you want to travel? What size venue do you require? How many anglers will be in your party? Do you want an exclusive lake? Do you want a food package?

As you can see there are lots of questions to be answered before I can give you a detailed reply.
