One of the 55 immaculate carp recently stocked

Following on from the 33 grass carp stocked in September 2009, Santa came and emptied his sack early at Lillypool in the form of Michel and Laurent Bigot and their fish farming team.

On 18th December 2009 a further 55 carp were stocked, slightly more than was promised but we just couldn’t resist as they were all immaculate fish.

Six of the fish were just under 20lbs with the rest ranging from 20 to 30lbs. The average weight being 24lb 10oz and the biggest being 29lb 5oz with two lovely commons of 28lb 12oz and 28lb.

The 24th of February 2009 saw Michel Bigot’s Etang de Margot get a boost to its carp stocks. In total 70 large carp to 49lb and four Koi were introduced to this prolific venue, taking the total stock of carp to over 400 fish. The vast majority of the carp were in the high 20’s to low 30’s with the jewel in the crown being a magnificent 49lb common, what a superb fish! So now there are two very large commons in this famous lake including the lake record common of 66lb. Quite a target to go for!

Hi all,

It’s video time again, been a few recently. This one is a short clip showing some of the lovely fish stocked into the Oakview venue in Western France. This lake is a new venue for 2009 and boasts a superb lakeside chalet as well.

Thursday 21st February saw me on the banks of Hideaway Lake in Normandy for the stocking of a new batch of carp.

36 of these fish were in the 17-21lb bracket. Twenty four fish ranged from 22-26lb. Finally the larger fish included carp, both mirrors and commons, from 27lb to 34lb. In all there were seven thirties from 30-34lb plus seven others from 26-27.5lb. The total was 74 fish.

Finally there was also one sturgeon of 33lb stocked.
