I am going to Roseau to fish the large lake in March. I have never been fishing in France so I don’t know what to expect. Could someone give me some advice please? Also am driving there myself and have never driven in another country before. Thanks.

Hi Michael, thanks for your question. I’ve asked Roy Fulton who controls the fishing at Roseau to give you some pointers but before he does can I suggest you take a look at our Forum. I’ve posted your question under the Roseau section here. There’s also a complete section dedicated to driving in France & you can find that here. Right over to Roy….

Hi Michael,

The best advice I can give for fishing Roseau is to keep things nice and simple, don’t over complicate rigs etc just keep the bait trickling in and make sure your hitting the same spot every time. Roseau is full of hungry fish and they will keep eating without moving very far from bait to bait.

Tackle

Whatever you fish with at home will be suitable for fishing this venue, just remember to read the fishery rules on what is and isn’t allowed.

Our on-site bailiff will be on hand to give you some help and advice if needed. It’s part of his job to ensure our customers stand the very best chance possible of catching fish whilst on holiday at Roseau, so if you have any questions or need advice on spots etc, just give him a nudge on his morning walk around the lakes.

Driving in France

It is law in France to carry spare bulbs, a hi visability vest for all passengers in your vehicle and light deflectors, a first aid kit and fire extinguisher. All the above items can be purchased from the ferry terminal shop at Dover (although you’ll probably get them cheaper in your home town).

Good luck and I look forward to seeing you on the bank at Roseau.

Roy,
