The items mentioned by Gareth are for sure iconic with the possible exception in my opinion of Sylcast line which I can only remember as being dreadful !It was also available in black which was even worse !

My list would include a few more modern classics ;

Daiwa Amorphous AKN12H rods.
Fox Micron Buzzers
Nash Titan Bivvy
Delkim Txi's
Daiwa Infinity X rods
Nash Bullet Line
Daiwa Emblem X/Z/Pro ABS Reels
Nash Indulgence Bedchair

Hi

I still have 2 optoninc compact moodel bite indicators manufactured by Dellareed Ltd have been using them for about 40 years still going strong but have lost one of the forks for fitting to rod rest or pod. anyone know where I can get a replacement.

Also have 2 Mitchel 300s still in perfect working order and used on a regular basis.

Hi,

You just can't name iconic carp reels of the past without at least mentioning the best of 'em all:
the legendary Abu Cardinal 57.

Especially the ones issued before '82
(Check 1st 4 digits of the SN, stamped in the sole)
with the "ordinary" anti-retour.

It's by far superior to the '55, and still an absolute collectors' item.
Over all these years, I had reels come and go,
but these are still in prime condition,
and I intend to keep them that way:
my all time favourites.

Cheers,
Michel
