Now that’s a lot of weed!
This year has seen the early season temperatures soar. In fact no rain fell for over 3 months and watering the garden was already underway by the end of March! This was incredible as I waited for the April showers that didn’t come… in fact the rain turned up only last week at Oakwood and was torrential but much needed.
All this sun resulted in abnormal early season weed growth and the wet suits and waders were donned as we set about 12 days of continuous weeding to clear the swims.
I’m glad to say that all the work is now complete and the swims are largely weed free and back to their carefully manicured best.
