Lac du Val owner, Dave Harding, with his monster tench
After landing two nice mirrors another drop back bite saw me striking into what I thought would be another carp. What a surprise when it turned out to be a lovely 14lb 2oz tench.
Many carpers may not feel as I did at the time, but for me the memories came fooding back, when as a boy in the 50′s I used to land 4lb perch regularly from the local River Witham at Kirstead Bridge, Lincoln.
When looking down at this grand specimen I realised that I shall always remain a fisherman and not just a carper.
