Etang des Brionnais

This venue has to be the find of the year!
The superb chalet accommodation right on the lake side and a huge head of very large carp make it one of the most desirable carp venues in the whole of France. The lake has produced some fabulous results during August - it really does go from strength to strength. Several weeks have seen anglers take more than 40 fish during their stay. Most of the carp have been in the 15lb to 30lb bracket, with at least five anglers capturing carp over the 40lb mark. One of the nicest stories this month is from Mr. David Naylor. He arrived with is wife and daughter for a week in chalet 5, on the 3rd August. His first run saw him bank a magnificent mirror of 45lb 8oz - what a start!! His wife woke the owner at 2am such was their excitement. Mr. Naylor had just pulverised his personnel best. His week ended with 32 carp including another lump of 38lb. To quote David " .. fishing in England will never be the same again for me!" More ...... |

Peter Rudolfsson and wife Anna from Sweden, 26th July
Peter was delighted with his holiday & wrote a 4 page article in the Swedish Karpfiske magazine on his trip to the St. Lawrence. He returned in late July with two other Swedish anglers. Once again they had lots of 20s & 30s.
Martin and John Fairbrother, June 10th
Their fishing was exceptional, despite the wet & windy weather, with many carp in the high thirties caught. John had the record of 33 carp in one day. To quote "We had a great time even though the weather was wet! I hope all is well with you and please pass our regards and thanks to Kevin, he really did a great job of making our holiday one in a lifetime. PS . Please tell Kevin that he wouldn't believe the size of the one I lost on the last day! I saw it close up after 20 minutes battle and it made a 33lb fish I caught earlier look very small! " John Fairbrother.
Baxley party of 4 anglers - mid June
Plenty of doubles, high twenties and thirties ... with the biggest being 43lbs. caught by the youngest member of the party,
11 year old Ross Baxley. It's all downhill from here Ross!
David Cresswell (our most seasoned carper) and his guest Derik Milsome had a very rewarding week with high doubles to mid thirties - David ending the week with a beautiful 45lb.common.
Denman Party 5 anglers
Had a terrific holiday - fish in the low thirties & very hot weather (hit record highs in Ontario @ 40ºc.) Lots of smaller fish of 15 to 22lbs giving loads of action.
Adams family had great time and are booking again for 2004.
Mr. Peter Osborne thoroughly enjoyed his holiday. To quote ... "hospitality from Evelyn & Jack wonderful, great food, room etc. Particularly wonderful attention from Kevin, who gave me the utmost care, help and regard throughout my stay from the moment I arrived in Canada - sincere thanks to you all" Peter Osborne, Oxford, England.

Roseau
The news from the Roseau is that venue record has tumbled again from the Small Lake. A 46lb 2oz mirror caught by a French angler on 30th August. To add to the big specimen fish in this small water the owner Christophe has added a second 60lb plus catfish ... a giant that will certainly get a few hearts pounding in the coming seasons. The large lake has had it's usually impressive numbers of big hits this month, and continues to produce well. The 2nd September saw the annual Enduro held over 48 hours. The competition produced an incredible 3,700 lb's of fish for an average weight of 15lb 8oz with the heaviest fish going just over 34lb.

Etang des Vinçons
| Once again this charming little venue saw the guests have a very pleasant and successful stay.
It is still producing a lot of fish and the lovely comments we have received on the venue and the friendliness and welcome of the Bouchot family, makes the Vincons a gem of a place for a family type holiday where the fishing is not too serious, but the action guaranteed. While the hot weather of August slowed the fishing some what September saw the action pick up with some creditable catches all round. 15-21 September - 3 anglers Con Desmond, Matt Forester and Dave Wheaton (accompanied by their wives) landed 50 fish between them, on their second visit to the venue. The catch included mostly doubles with six fish over 20lb the best ones going 25lb 4oz, 23lb 8oz, 28lb. Their successful method was boilie Monster Crab, NRG & Activ 8.
22-28 September - anglers Phil & Jon (again accompanied by their better halves). They landed 31 fish to just over 20lb. Phil broke his PB no less than three times during the week. Their successful techniques were the "Method" feeder, Halibut Pellet, some locally purchased Caribbean Cocktail boilies and Big Fish with Cranberry. More .... |
