General comments: We had this venue recommended by you, it was the worst year we had ******** Comment from Angling Lines ********* Earlier catch reports show that there is definitely plenty of fish in this venue. We realise it's very disappointing when catches are below expectations but by deffinition fishing cannot be guaranteed... just because you don't catch them on a particular week doesn't mean they are not there ***********

General comments:  I recently had two pb's from this new Angling Lines venue on Quest Pineapple Crush boilies. Following on from the video shoot on which I accompanied my dad, we did a couple of nights fishing, as there was no one on the venue. Well, initially we struggled, the guys the week before had caught most of the fish in the lake, banking 98 carp, cats and the sturgeon. We were not feeling too confident after the caning they had taken... We baited a couple of areas with boilie and pellet but nothing happened the first night nor during the next day.. We were now short of bait and only had the bag of Pineapple Crush left with us. So I tied up a couple of PVA bags with crushed boilies and a single bait on the hook and cast three of these presentations into the lake, on three likely looking spots. Well I had two takes that night on the one rod in the deeper water. The first was a lovely pristine common at 33lb (new pb common) and then a few hours later a second pb this time in the shape of a 36lb mirror. Needless to say I was extremely happy... see attached photos. Regards William

General comments: The first group of anglers to fish Commons Lake this year from 21st - 28th April, had the best start possible when they landed 98 fish during the week to four anglers. The group from Bristol tallied 2 x 40’s including the largest carp in the lake a 48lb common, 20x 30’s to 39lb. They also managed catfish to 58lb and the superb diamond backed sturgeon at 51lb. Paul Goodman was top rod taking most of his fish from the right hand margin near the over hanging trees. With 36 fish to his credit he also had the largest catfish. Successful tactics were varied for the group, but a bait boat presenting a tight bed of bait was the most deadly technique. This worked both on the far and right hand margins. Baits were a mixture of pellet, particle over a spicy boile and hi viz pop ups. Even though this was the opening week on the venue the catches were outstanding and bodes will for this new venue. Suitable for 4 anglers the venue has a lake side mobile home and convivial terrace.
