Lake Rules

1. Arrival time is 1pm – please do not arrive before as you will not be allowed access. Please depart by 9am. After a walk around the lake with the head bailiff there will be a peg draw at 2pm. No pre-booking of swims is allowed.
   
   
2. Three rods per angler (April-November inclusive), Four rods in winter season. Do not leave rods unattended. Fishing is only allowed from your own swim - the swims are shown on the lake map and fishing is strictly only in the designated swim area. No permanent markers.
   
   
3. On arrival you will be given a landing net, weigh sling, un-hooking mat and weigh crook. Please only use these items during your stay. This is to stop water borne disease being introduced.
   
   
4. Only boats supplied by the venue can be used – PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN BOAT.
   
   
5. If you wish to use a boat it must be hired from us for a nominal fee (25 euros for the week, 40 euros if anglers in adjacent swims share the same boat) and are allowed for baiting purposes ONLY ... HOOKBAITS MUST BE CAST FROM THE BANK. If you see other people breaking this rule please report it to the bailiff as this practice can spoil everyone’s fishing!
   
   
6. You MUST use the life jackets provided and they must be correctly fitted and sufficient for your body weight. Details can be found on the inside of the life jacket. Anyone found not using a life jacket will be asked to leave the venue immediately.
   
   
7. Please use only barbless or crushed barbed hooks. No bent hooks/extra long curve shank hooks (like Fox series 5 or Long Shank Nailers) will be allowed.
   
   
8. Leadcore, in any form is totally banned at Gigantica.
   
   
9. Unhooking mats are obligatory. No carp sacks allowed - fish must be released as quickly as possible. Legal proceedings will be taken against anyone attempting to steal fish.
   
   
10. Particles – only particles prepared by us re allowed at Gigantica. A superb mix of large and small particles soaked and boiled in lake water costs only 15 euros for 10kilos. We need only 24 hours notice for orders. The mix does include maize and tiger nuts for hookbaits.
    
    
11. Boilies - shelf life boilies are not allowed. Mainline freezer baits are sold on-site. Freezers are available for your use free of charge. We can freeze up to 20kg of boilies per angler, please make sure they are in easy to store plastic bags.
    
    
12. Pellets – only those sold at the lake are allowed. Please do not bring your own as you will not be allowed to use them. This is to ensure only low oil content pellets are used for the carp’s safety. Both particles and pellet are sold at reduced rates.
    
    
13. The minimum age for anglers, or non-anglers, is 18.
    
    
14. Cars may be used to transport tackle to your swims 3 new car parks have been build so you can park your car near to your swim, please move your car to the car park asap and leave it there for your stay, you must not leave your car parked behind your swim even if there is space, this is to retain the natural feel of the lake. Please - no excessive driving around the venue i.e. to go to the shower block, push bikes can be hired for only 10 euro’s a week. Please be respectful during your stay and place all your litter in bin bags.
    
    
15. Swimming is not permitted. Cutting of bank side vegetation is not permitted.
    
    
16. Barbecues are allowed, but ashes must be placed in a bin once cooled. Do not throw the ashes on the floor and please do not light fires on the ground.
    
    
17. The owners decline any responsibility in case of accident, theft or natural diseases contracted at the venue.
    
    
18. Please respect the rules as anyone found breaking them will be asked to leave immediately without refund. The bailiff’s decision is final.

Equipment supplied;

We are currently, and for the foreseeable future, supplying all anglers who visit Gigantica with the following equipment;

• A large 42" carbon landing net.
  
  
• A large weigh sling, suitable for short timescale retention of fish.
  
  
• A very large unhooking mat
  
  
• A high quality weigh crook for weighing the fish here.

Under no circumstances will anglers be allowed to use their own personal equipment detailed above. This is a very strict policy to save from any disease risks.

Boats for hire;
On site we hire the boats, capable of carrying two people. They are supplied with a life jacket per person using them. The cost of a boat is 25 Euro for the week. For two anglers sharing a boat, providing they are in adjacent pegs, the cost is 40 Euro. Life jackets are strictly compulsory. Anyone caught afloat without the life jacket will be removed immediately from the water.

Mountain Bikes for hire;
We have several Mountain bikes on site for hire at 10 Euro per week - saves a lot of walking if fishing on the other side of the lake.

Freezer facilities for your bait;
We have freezer facilities for your bait, able to hold 500kg, so there is simply no weight restrictions on the amount of boilies anglers can bring with them. All pellet and particle has to be bought from us here at Gigantica.
