Every angler knows that nothing can be guaranteed with fishing. Conditions can be wrong & carp are fickle creatures - unfortunately sometimes they just don't feed. BUT... if there's one venue on our books where we had to stake our reputation on good catches it would be Morganes. It sometimes appears that there's more fish than water! Here's a few catch reports from 2007 - you can read more in the customer feedback section:

Gary & 3 mates, September 2007; Approx. 80 fish, 51lb mirror, 2 x 40's, 18 x 30's, numerous 20's. 24lb catfish.

Byron Osbourne, July 2007; Best fish 46lb Mirror, 10 between 30lb and 38lb, 16 between 20lb and 29lb. 22 doubles.

Mr Sibley, June 2007; Approximately 35 fish (carp and catfish.) Biggest carp 39lb, biggest cat 90lb 8oz.

Mick Moore, April 2007; 63 fish - 55 carp & 8 catfish. Biggest carp 40lb mirror, biggest cats 100lb, 95lb, 85lb, 42lb. Carp: 13 x 30's, 1 x 40lb, 38 x 20's. Grand total 1,760lb.

See what we mean! The fishing is prolific and the carp are big... but be warned Morganes books up very early so if you fancy a go give us a call sooner rather than later.

The lakes are based in the Maine et Loire region, driving time from Caen is around 3 hours. There are two lakes, each around 2 acres, offering prolific carp and cat fishing, and the added luxury of a lakeside mobile home. Booking the venue gives you exclusive use of both lakes.

Morganes is owned by one of Frances most respected fish farmers, Michel Bigot, so the lake is managed exceptionally well. The stock is constantly monitored and a recent netting of the carp lake showed a superb stock of fish running from 15 to 55lb, with great numbers of big fat commons. The cats range from 40 to 120lb and will provide plenty of exciting and tense moments in the wait for the great fight.

The lakes are totally private with no public access and the shops are only 2 minutes away. This is an ideal venue for a family holiday or a pleasant stay with friends!

The mobile home is well suited to either the angler and family or a group of anglers.  Powered by gas and electric - all electric sockets are for British 3 pin plugs so you don't need adaptors and there is at least one socket in each room.

Kitchen - sink / drainer, hob, grill, oven, large fridge with small freezer compartment inside.

Lounge / Diner - large 'U' shape seating area with dining table. Seating area can be used for sleeping if needed. Gas Fire for cooler evenings.

Bathroom - sink, toilet and shower. The shower is over a small hip bath, and is very good, hot and powerful.

Bedroom 1 - double bed, wardrobe, dresser and cupboards.

Bedroom 2 - 2 narrow single beds and one (very small) fold down bunk. The singles could be pushed together to form one big single or a small double bed. Also has wardrobe and dresser.

Note: the bedrooms are at the back of the mobile home and sheltered by trees so they don't get any sun and they can get cold at night.

There are 2 doors (one from Kitchen, one from Lounge) out onto the decking area. The decking is large, with steps down to a fishing platform. Although it has railings all around, it is not safe/secure for young children so you need to take care. You'll need to take bedding including pillows, blankets/duvets, towels and tea towels.

Mobile phone reception varies according to network but you should get a signal at some point around the lake!
