What did you find were the best tactics/baits: fish snowmen tight to the snags, we applied lots of particle and pellet to open water mark, however this only resulted in 1 fish, couple of fish fell to Zig rigs in 25ft of water, you deffinately need a boat to fish efficiently.

General comments: A difficult water with some absolutely stunning fish, we intend to return at some stage, worth a visit dont let the size of the venue put you off.

Brief details of your catches: 10 carp: 29lb 15oz mirror, 23lb common, 21lb common, 18lb 4oz mirror, 17lb mirror, 17lb 2oz common, 16lb mirror, 15lb 4oz mirror, 13lb 4oz common. Plenty of skimmer bream.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Pellet & pop-up snowman. Use owner's pellet, smell of dog food but the fish like them.

Were the facilities what you expected? Better

Were you happy with them? Yes, owner lets you use them as your own if you ask him.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend? Yes, although it is quite hard.

Would you recommend our services to a friend? Yes

General comments: A hard venue with a lot of smaller fish. Best method to find spots & stick with them putting bait on them every day; a lot of particle, pellet & boilies.

Brief details of your catches: six carp in total, smallest was a common just under twenty pounds, the biggest came in at thirty two pounds, not huge by st christophe standards but a welcome result for a difficult week.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: no definite best tactics but giant maize flavoured with scopex did well

Were the facilities what you expected? top notch

Were you happy with them? very much so

General comments: known to be a difficult water the plan was "if we catch weve cracked it" and with three fish each we were very happy, especially when the owner said "its not fishing well". gonna go back.

Brief details of your catches: Nothing, no honest, nothing, not even a run. 22 feet of water, no features. Left after 4.5 days as there is only so long you can flog a dead horse.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Tried everything we could possibly think of.

General comments: Unless you were in one corner of this massive lake, fish were not on the agenda. A French guy in the next peg went out in his boat with sonar & couldn't find a fish. Made me laugh a lot, then cry. Can't win em all!

Brief details of your catches: 2 fish 17lb and 21lb one each. also a 35lb10oz out of the small pont next to the hook on bread under the trees. dont think you can fish this but we did due to the poor fishing in large lake.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: large lake not much worked at all very hard water upto 30ft deep in areas.

General comments: lake is an amazing place stunning sunsets most nights. owner not helpfull when we seen him which was twice. seems like when fishing poor he does not want to no at all. only time he was around was when he had a fishing party with his mates on the small lake which we caught a 35lb carp on. would give no tips didnt speak english at all if i was to go again i would take pike gear and fish for them cause there is 100s little pike all around the lake and very very easy to catch for bit of fun. will be booking other lakes with angling lines just not this venue will add photos at later date.

Brief details of your catches: Carp to 29.10. 16 anglers on the lake and only a few 30'and 20's. No sign of any of the big fish. Not quite the lake it was made out to be. Caught plenty of fish this size at other venues. We all came here to catch big fish. Dutch, French, Belgian and other English anglers all left disappointed.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Most fish came to margin, tree lined areas. Not many fish showing. Baiting areas was difficult.

Were the facilities what you expected? Better, 2nd week

General comments: Overall disaapointed with the fishing. Amid rumours that the lake has been sold and the possibiltiy that fish had been taken out and sold (rumoured by Belgian anglers)

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Zig rigs at 1 metre below surface. Hi - Vis and Quest Liver B8 pop ups as bottom baits (bigger fish)

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: Due to the cold wet spring, water levels were 80cm up and the water was still cold.Luckily, I had a slowly shelving margin to my right and so fished 2 rods in 5 and 8 feet of water, these produced fish most nights - baited with 3kgs of mixed particles. The other 2 rods were fished on 20' zigs cast to showing fish in the middle areas. No fish were caught on the bottom in the mioddle areas with the water being too cold ay that depth - 27feet.

General comments: My girlfriend and I had a lovely week, though it was soured on the last morning when we found that my bait boat had been stolen from the porch of the bivvy. The fish are all stunning, but please understand that there are many small commons in the water. (and lots of bream too!)

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: the best tactic was zig rigs fished appx 3ft under the surface, unfortunately this wasnt realised untill the fifth day in so we could have caught alot more.

General comments: a stunning lake with excellent facilities,the owners were very helpful and basically just leave you alone to get on with your fishing.

General comments: Would say this needed some warmth for good fishing. The big ones are in there but stayed in the deep water. Superb people, can't do enough for you, but don't pester you. The food is great and there's plenty of it.

What did you find were the best tactics/baits: We used two baits. The Quest liver B8, and the Special Crab, the Crab caught all the fish. Fishing bags or single chopped baits over lightly spodded area produced the fish.

Were the facilities what you expected? The facilities were good apart from the shower, which was cold the majority of the time.

General comments: Fishing in the shallower water produced all the fish, as it was changable weather conditions, and the most fish were seen showing in the marginal areas of the lake. Only two carp were caught elsewhere in the lake, except for our swim which was number 5.

General comments: Glorious looking lake with some very big carp in but there is a very big stock of small fish which is a real shame because it's so hard to get to the big fish. I personally go to France for big fish, if this doesn't bother you then give St Christophe a go.

General comments: Holiday itself was good, although no one seemed to be catching much this particular week. First impressions let it down a bit, as there is rubble etc, but the lake itself was fine. Will be going with Angling Lines again, thank you
