St. Christophe lies in the Champagne region of Eastern France, around 4 hours from Calais with the majority of the journey being by motorway. At the nearby famous Foret d’Orient lake complex there are numerous leisure activities, including swimming, cycle tracks and boating – making St. Christophe an ideal location for both the serious carper and for a family orientated carping holiday.

St Christophe 2 is around two acres in size and can be hired exclusively. It comes with a lake side cabin that can sleep up to six people - ideal for a family holiday. There’s an excellent head of carp and coarse fish, with the largest carp going to over 40lb.

The accommodation available is a newly constructed stone cabin, fully equipped with kitchen, shower, toilet and two bedrooms. It sleeps up to six people, two in each bedroom and two on the fold out bed/settee in the living room. The tiled and covered terrace area over looks the lake – a glorious place to sit with a glass of wine!
The French owners remain on site at the nearby Large Lake (around 1km away) for much of the time and offer snacks like pizzas and chicken and chips, as well as drinks and bait. A baker calls at the Large Lake at 9am every day, so you can get fresh bread, baguettes & croissants. The nearest supermarket is around 5 miles away.

Other items:
The fish are fed regularly on carp pellets, the same ones they were reared on. These pellets are on sale at 35 euros for a 25kg sack and are available in 6mm, 8mm and 15mm. It’s a pellet that the fish adore and they cannot be recommended highly enough.
Maize and Wheat (soaked & cooked) is sold at 8 Euros for 8kgs of particle.

Whilst this smaller lake doesn’t contain the massive fish to 70lb+ that are present in the adjacent Large Lake it does have a very good head of specimen carp from mid-doubles to 40lb+ ... and it’s smaller size certainly makes them much easier to find.
There’s also a healthy head of other coarse species, including trout and grayling.
