{"id":11907,"date":"2013-06-10T03:56:15","date_gmt":"2013-06-10T02:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/?p=11907"},"modified":"2026-02-23T12:05:55","modified_gmt":"2026-02-23T11:05:55","slug":"introducing-jonchery","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/blog\/introducing-jonchery\/","title":{"rendered":"Introducing&#8230; Jonchery"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/venue\/jonchery\" class=\"kblinker\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"More about Jonchery &raquo;\">Jonchery<\/a> is a\u00a0stunning 30 acre lake set in the heart of the Champagne region, created and run by\u00a0the prominent fish farming Bachelier family. \u00a0This lake has a great reputation, stretching back many years, for offering superb carp\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.anglinglines.com\/Jonchery\/\">fishing holidays<\/a>&#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">47lb &#8211; Mike Bowers<\/span>\n<p>The lake is shaped like an Xmas stocking, with swim 5 tucked neatly on the dam wall at the toe end and the facilities at the opposite end close to the entrance and swim 1. \u00a0The lake bottom is fairly even, mainly silt, with an\u00a0average depth of between 1.5 &amp; 2m and is at its shallowest between swims 3 and 5. \u00a0One side of the lake affords plenty of shade and the other bank is much more open.<\/p>\n<p>As you would expect in a lake run by fish farmers, Jonchery is a very well stocked lake, with around 300 big and healthy mirrors and commons\u00a0up to 58lb, including an excellent head of 40lb+ carp.<\/p>\n<p>However, what makes Jonchery really special is some of the tremendous scale patterns you&#8217;ll find on the carp. \u00a0From stunning linears to deep bodied fully scaled specimens, this lake contains some of the prettiest carp you&#8217;ll ever see. \u00a0This is because they were hand-picked for their beauty &#8211; take a look at the carp photos, you will know exactly what we mean.
