Easily digested<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 the quicker it&#8217;s digested the sooner the carp need to eat again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Low flavour level<\/strong>\u00a0(that will surprise some!) \u2013 if I am presenting baits where I know the carp to be then I don\u2019t need high flavour content. \u00a0I have watched fish move from an area away from heavily flavoured baits when they don\u2019t want to feed. \u00a0They will tolerate low level flavoured baits being in the swim though and eat them when ready.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Soluble ingredients<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 to assist the leach of the natural subtle attractors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Minimal fat\/oil content<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 they struggle to digest fat in the cold weather which can make them ill and certainly makes it a longer period of time before they need to eat again.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Subtle colour if the bird life is troublesome<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 speaks for itself but I prefer subtle baits when everyone else is using \u2018in your face baits\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6. Food content instead of simple flavour carrier ingredients<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 if the bait has been out for a couple of days before the carp are inclined to feed or indeed come across the bait I want a food parcel awaiting them \u2013 not a washed out bit of pasta!<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Essential Oil(s)<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 retain taste in the bait if not picked up early in the session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8. Easily obtained<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 no good getting a bait going that you can\u2019t get hold of easily.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9.
