So you’ve booked your next French carp fishing trip, studied the photos and read the catch reports. These three handy tools will help you take care of the rest, making planning your carp fishing holiday easy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1. Measure Distances<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Want to find out the casting distances from a particular swim to a feature you’ve had your eye on? Or perhaps how far the walk is from your swim to the facilities? Google maps allows you to measure distances using an aerial view of the lake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You’ll just need to enter the co-ordinates for the lake (which we provide on your info pack once your holiday is booked), then click the point on the map you want to measure from, right click and select ‘measure distance’. This will give you the distance in metres and feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of our lakes, like Jonchery<\/a> and Fullys Lake<\/a>, ask you to prebook your swims so this tool can be essential when deciding which one you want to book. For example, check if the features are within comfortable casting distance for you or, if you’re going with mates for a social, perhaps you want to check how close the swims would be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Via Michelin<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Via Michelin is great for giving you an indication of the toll charges and fuel costs on the drive down to your chosen lake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You input your starting point, destination and make and model of your vehicle. By selecting the correct type of vehicle, it means that the fuel costs and toll charges it estimates are usually pretty spot on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. An Equipment Checklist<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
