We’re always wary of describing some of our French carp fishing lakes as ‘runs waters’. After all, the way a lake produces on one single week is down to many variables – weather, time of year, pressure and so on. However, with that said, the following lakes usually produce the goods again and again.<\/strong> These are our top 7 runs waters in France. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

1. <\/mark><\/strong><\/span>Seigneurie<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is a lovely 12.5 acre French gravel pit lying in the Eure Valley, just a short 2hr45 drive from the port of Calais and 1hr30 from Le Havre. Since opening in 2019 this lake has proven itself to be extremely popular, offering anglers plenty of runs with an excellent chance of some big carp to over 50lb.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lake offers four swims (two doubles and two singles). It can be booked individually or as a lake exclusive for groups of up to six anglers. It is a great lake for a social due to the layout of the swims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. La Fonte<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

La Fonte is a very attractive lake dating back to the 17th Century and is hired out exclusively for groups of up to 5 anglers. An easy 1hr 40 drive from Caen and under 4 hours from Calais, if its runs action with hard fighting carp you are after, then this lake is definitely a candidate for your list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With around 300 carp in its 7 acres, the main bulk of the carp are now in the high 20’s and 30’s with a lake record at over 60lb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Jonchery #7<\/a><\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This 5 acre lake is incredibly peaceful and a well known runs water with carp to over 60lb. You have one large swim which has good vehicle access. You\u2019ll have complete use of the lake to yourselves but you share the facilities \u2013 kitchen, dining area, shower & toilets \u2013 with the other lake on the complex, Jonchery<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s also a great optional food package available. This venue is ideal for 2 anglers but can fit 3 at a push.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Blue Lake<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This 15-acre gravel pit holds an enviable stock of carp to over 68lb. You’ll also find the odd large sturgeon and catfish. The lake has plenty of features and takes up to 10 anglers on the 11 swims, many of which are doubles, giving you plenty of options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the carp have matured and we see more 40lb+ carp on the bank, the lake has become slightly less of a runs water, however big hits are still very possible here and so we think it has earned a place on the list.

5. Autels<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A 4 acre lake in the Loire Valley, Autels is perfect for groups of up to 5 anglers to book exclusively. This is the ideal lake for those wanting a social holiday on a runs water in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s a large head of fish here – around 300 carp to 50lb, catfish to over 100lb and sturgeon to over 80lb, so you are unlikely to be short of action. Triangular in shape, the swims (many of them large doubles) offer plenty of options and room to move around as you wish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Vincons<\/a><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Absolutely ideal for a small group of anglers or someone wanting to take the family too – Vincons<\/a> offers action-packed carp fishing alongside accommodation and even a swimming pool. The carp here aren’t huge on average but the biggest does go to high-forties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the lakeside lodge, you can have your rods directly outside the door if you wish. Allowing you to enjoy a meal or BBQ in between the runs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Cailleaux<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A true runs water that allows for a very social carp fishing holiday due to the fact that all of the spacious swims are on one bank. This lake is really well stocked with carp, catfish and sturgeon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A 4 hour drive from Calais means it is also easy to reach. The lake accepts a maximum of 5 anglers and, whilst the on site facilities are basic, they do still offer electric points, toilet, showers and fridge\/freezers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
