Details of your catches:
Unfortunatley there weren't many fish caught...We caught on the first and last day of our holiday. We arrived to the fish beginning to spawn. The weather went up to 36 degrees, and then on Monday night we were hit by a massive storm. The weather really was against us.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, it's a fantastic venue, and the big fish are in there we were just unlucky with the weather conditions
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Definitely, we packed up early and you got us on an earlier ferry without any problems. Easy to book and excellent service
General Comments:
The water level was really high this week which made fishing difficult, we couldn't find any shallows. Fantastic venue, nice and quiet, shops nearby. Would definitley go back hopefully in better weather. The owners are really friendly and helpful.

General Comments:
Knew venue was prone to flooding early season so planned just in case. No real pegs, not a problem, treat as drive survive! Due to high water levels only 4 pegs accessed the alleged hot spots, only 2 of which were castable, no Point (under water), no Island (under water). We used the boat to the other 2, you could fish closer but due to trees & bushes so far out you would not be able to land fish without taking the risk of fish getting tethered in front of you. We used boats at 100 yards+ & had very few problems, baiting margin swims for day fishing produced very well, also casting to open water. So all in all great venue for runs, also very few runs at night? But we needed sleep anyway so not a problem. Note to Angling Lines: Explained to owner & his daughter that the big trees in water not a problem, you can see them so stay away from them if you do not have a chance of keeping fish out. Actually showed him its small bushes, etc, that are a problem between summer & winter levels, you cannot see them. He seemed to realise this when I showed him I could not break or pull out. I know it will look barren between summer & winter levels in summer but he agreed (I think) to cut them down for the safety of his fish. Also removed 2 hooks (different fish) that were barbed death traps with the snaggy nature of venue in winter (also banned). All in all we had a great week, will be trying to book same venue, same week next year. Not bothered about water level, fish according to level, fish still have a go. NB. Venue very peaceful & very clean (no rubbish).

Over 100 fish in total. 23 x Doubles to 19'8. 67 x Twenty's to 29'4. 9 x Thirtys to 36'1. 3 x Fourty's to 43'3. 5 x Grass Carp to 28.11. 4 x Cats to 17'0 and 5 x Bream. (all carp were mirrors no commons out all week)
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Started off by spodding large areas at middle distance and had some decent results. We all found the best tactic to be boating the baits out to long range(100 yards or so).The island and the spit were both under water so we fished around 10 meters off both features(just in case of sunken trees) and the fishing was non stop from then on. We used all sorts of boilies as hook baits and didnt really have one that didnt catch a fish, any good quality boilie should work but we had the best results on T1, Quest Raja and Crab in 15mm single and snowman. We used seed as the main particle along with with pellets and maize to put down a good bed of bait. Not really nessasary to put kilo after kilo of bait in, they seemed to hold in the same area with just a few freebies and a couple of good handfulls of the seed once in the area.

General Comments:
When we arrived the lake was well up(according to the owner over 2 meters). It was quite easy to identify the spit and the island as the bushes and trees were visable but the smaller bushes that line the bank around the pool are fully submerged and we couldnt see where the snags would be. The lads who were fishing the week before said they had fished from the bank where the toilet/kitchen block is and had done ok so we decided to follow suite. We started off fishing medium range with the spod and seed and had 4 or 5 fish in the first day before sunset. Not many fish at night and that was the pattern over the whole week. Second day changed tactics to long range towards the sunken features and that is where most of our fish came from.We all fished just in front of the spit and island and the fish seemed to hold there all week. The rest of the week was hectic to say the least and on more than one occasion all three of us couldnt get all of our rods in the water at one time because before you can re-bait and set up one of the other alarms is screaming off!!We were landing most of the fish with waders after the first day as the sunken bushes around the pool lost us quite a few fish at the start of the week.As someone else has said if you are going to this venue at the time when the water may be up i would advise bringing some waders to help land the fish as far out as possible. Apart from the under water bushes this is a great venue in a great location. All the fish we caught were in great condition and most gave up a good fight. The owner was very helpful and did as much as he could for us. Would recommend this venue and would certainly go back. Almost constant action all week!
