★★★ Deux îles report to 18th May ★★★, 18th May

A catch report from David WantScott GoldsmithIan Davenport & Robert Reed

This trip had been planned for a considerable amount of time. We are all family men wrapped up in the day to day rat race.

The time of year regarding spawning was always on our minds but that was going to be down to the weather. A good catch report from the previous week we was excited to say the least.

Two days deep into our week and one of our group was top rod with Steve The Sturgeon and if my memory serves me right considering the red wine I'd drunk a couple of 30lb carp. The rest of us still to catch.

Eventually we all got our spots rocking and Steve reappeared at 3am midweek to a spot that had already produced a 40lb mirror as well as a mirror just shy of 30lb for one of us.

In a nutshell our week exclusive saw one e of us smash his PB with an impressive and very long 43 pounder. The river saw the man that organised our trip land a 20 pounder which to be honest was impressive fishing on his behalf.

There is lakes in France you can book that hold mind bogglinly huge carp but we chose this place for the reasons you are looking for, quality fish, facilities including faultless lake side WiFi connection and a bbq per Lodge. Hot water every day to shower with and wash up dishes and wine glasses.

Considering we witnessed the early stages of spawning this is what we enjoyed catching, mainly angry males on the munch which reduced the amount of fish but increased the size of fish we had.

Deux Iles report to 21st Jul, 21st Jul

A catch report from Richard Biggs :

Just returned form a weeks fishing at deux illes had a great week....

Lovely weather and plenty of carp!!!

Biggest went 40lb 8oz.night shot

Heavily plated mirror at 39lb and another at 38.

Many more 30s
Total fish count at 28 for the week fishing 3 rods over partical and boiles.

During my stay i fished a artificial pop-up boilie over partical tigernuts pellet and boilies.

I used flouocarbon hooklink and mouthtrap to make a hinged stiff rig.

I experinced no problems with the crayfish, i could see that there where some im the lake but i do not feel tjat it is a problem if you use the right rig and avoid real hook baits.
I fed 50 kg of partical and 20kg of boilies all week the fish fed all through the day... and evening night time i recived regular action.

I feel that with some crayfish and a good head of carp feeding regulary is essential for bites, most of my takes came from in front of the slipway area.

Going back i would pick 4 or 5 spots and feed heavily with bait sticking to them for 3 days or so, try not to loose confidence.

Huge thanks to Bruno for keeping me supplied with 50kg of bait at short notice, these fish are putting on 3lbs a year and with summer weights averaging 30lb.

Really happy with the scaley originals.
