Total of 8 fish in very difficult conditions, the weather hitting 40 towards the end of the week. 40lb carp and grass carp amongst the captures. Also a good selection from the very rich river, chub, barbel and bream. No carp or sturgeon, but they are in there.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Plastic baits, certainly in the warmer months the crays are very active, go straight in with plastics to save yourself wasted time.

Were the facilities what you expected?

One of great points of Deux Isles is the facilities, they are always kept clean and good working order, having extra fridge / freezer space is always a bonus. Being able to wash yourself daily and not do your ablutions in a bucket or bag, winning.

Were you happy with them?

Yes very - hot water, shower, toilet, place to wash up and extra cold storage.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Depending on what you are after, but most certainly yes.

General Comments:

Another great trip to Deux isles - whilst is it not the easiest lake it has exactly what we wanted. The cabins are excellent and really make travel easier without bed chairs and bivvies. Bruno balances the interaction with you exceptionally well, if you need anything he is there, if you have not been before he will support you, if you have been before and are happy with the known spots or tactics he will leave you in peace. Great facilities and bait on site is a plus. Having your own section of lake is a real benefit and is like a lake exclusive. Watch out for the mossies' in summer, they pack a punch. Great opportunities to rest swims and fish the river too, very scenic and we managed some chub, barbel and bream of that’s your thing. All again on the complex. A wonderful place with a top host.

Crayfish were very active, either cast regularly or use artificial boilies.

Were you happy with them?

Disappointed the pegs were full of water, this could have been rectified if the pegs would have had more gravel put in above water level. I feel this was something that could have been avoided. I spent the Saturday filling my peg with more gravel myself. Also the unhooking mats are dangerous they don’t retain the fish because they're totally flat that includes the sides.

Fake Corn, dumbells, pop ups fished little and often over the lakes mixed particles and pellet.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes. Better than most lakes we have been on.

Were you happy with them?

Yes. Very clean and tidy. Shower was as hot as you like and often as you like.

Yes. Especially for a social lake and great for the ladies too, as facilities were good.

Well run lake by Bruno the owner. My wife and I fish one end and my fishing partner and his wife fished the other end of the lake.
