Emeraude Rules

**IMPORTANT** The rules at this venue must be strictly adhered to and they are checked by the on-site bailiff. Any rules broken will mean termination of your fishing. If you are unsure about a rule, please ask beforehand and the bailiff can clarify.
- Braided line, braided leaders, or any other form of braid are strictly prohibited.
- Only carp fishing is allowed, maximum of 3 rods per angler, audible bite alarms are mandatory.
- Only 1 barbless hook per line. Crushed barbs are strictly prohibited - only barbless hooks are allowed.
- Main line must be nylon (minimum 0.35mm), it is mandatory to use a nylon leader (minimum 0.50mm) which must be longer than two rod lengths. Korda safe zone leaders are acceptable, but does not replace the two rod lengths of leader.
- Plasticised leads are mandatory (pebbles allowed).
- Leadcore is prohibited, only tungsten tube is allowed.
- The Magic Twig is strictly prohibited.
- Retention sacks can only be used during the night to to hold the fish. During the day the bag can only be used to let the fish rest after the fight for 30 minutes. Any fish sacked for the night must be released no later than 1 hour after sunrise. A minimum of 3 carp sacks per swim is required, however they will all be provided by the lake free of charge.
- IMPORTANT: Carp care kits (disinfectant) must be used by all anglers. If you are not equipped with some then it can be purchased on site. (Betadine is prohibited).
- All fish to be handled in the water for photos, so remember to bring your waders. Only the weighing (and scanning) can be done outside the water with the cradle underneath. Immediately release the fish after weighing, scanning and photographing.
- We provide a weighing tripod, landing mat and sling. Please do not bring your own.
- All seeds forbidden (tiger nuts, particles, toasted seeds, maize etc) except tinned or frozen sweetcorn. You are welcome to bring your own boilie and pellets. Maggots & breadcrumb can also be used. Boilie canons are forbidden.
- Due to the depth of the lake please take care around the edge. It is prohibited to stray outside of the provided swims.
- A boat with oar and life jacket is provided free of charge on each swim. Wearing a lifejacket is mandatory and compulsory. There is the possibility of bringing your own electric motor and echo sounder if you wish.
- No personal boats on site (zodiac, float tube, etc.) Please use only the one provided on your swim.
- Baitboats are allowed.
- No entry or exit is allowed between 9pm and 8am. Outside of these hours, the site is locked but you will be given an access code shortly before arrival, which you can use to come and go from the lake during the week.
- Vehicles cannot stay at the swims (except for loading & unloading), they must be left in the parking area.
- Dogs are allowed, but they must be under control at all times and not leave your swim.
- Anyone under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times when fishing.
- Fires on the ground are prohibited. Stoves and BBQs are allowed as long as you do not damage the ground.
- A green/camouflage bivvy is mandatory.
- Please respect the swim boundaries (marked with buoys & markers) and do not leave your swim unattended if your rods are in the water.
- A shower is available at the entrance and 4 dry toilets are located around the gravel pit. Please leave them clean.
- Swims and boats must be cleaned before departure. Left over bait should not be thrown into the lake.
- *IMPORTANT* Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to dispose of your waste on site. Please bring plenty of garbage bags and take your rubbish away with you. Local bins are available for disposal - please feel free to ask the bailiff for further details. We are sorry for this inconvenience.
- The theft of fish is subject to legal action (our fish are microchipped and our census is always up to date). The site is under video surveillance. Tagging or anything that could damage the fish is also strictly prohibited and will result in immediate expulsion. We reserve the right to check vehicles leaving the premises as a matter of course.
- If you or a member of your party experiences any issues during your holiday, please report them immediately to the venue owner/bailiff and to Angling Lines. This allows us the opportunity to resolve the matter while you are still at the lake, in line with our holiday Terms & Conditions.
