Bait, rigs: I mix 50% of the mighty Mehdi's partiblend with 50% of pure boilies to bait up, and a very fruity hookbait. Since I had bites quickly, I decided to bait up heavily between each bite, to keep the fish feeding. I checked my spots by watching directly with polarized glasses and all baits were gone within an hour.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Perfect. Nice and clean and confortable. It was nice to use a big freezer and a big fridge during such hot weather.

General Comments:

Man, it was damn hot!!! Up to 35°C, but fish were feeding mad. I baited up one spot by hand and noticed all bait were gone within an hour. For that reason, I decided to use plenty of bait to keep the fish feeding on my spots. I like to mix partiblend with boilies to keep the fish a long time on my spots. When you fish only 48 hours, usually, you fish for one bite at a time, and use a few handfuls of bait. But, it wasn't enough. This is why I use so much bait. I was on peg 1, fishing the far bank and my hookbait was a small fruity and sweety stuff. Two months ago, I did the same trick, and had 17 bites in 48 hours off the very last peg. When you know the lake, you can catch regularly even in tough conditions. I would have caught much more fish if I could stay...

General Comments:

Our week was a bit tough due to high air pressure and blazing sun for the whole week but none the less Laroussi is a fantastic place to be. The lake is really nice looking with a mixture of various depths with a few gravel bars and some nice marginal shelves to fish on. On the first morning we was greeted by Medhi who is a good smiley character and was very helpful and looked after us throughout the whole week. We went for a walk around the whole lake before deciding where to fish and Medhi shared with us his considerable knowledge of Laroussi and gave us few pointers. Angling lines website is comprehensive and was easy to follow and made it easy to book and pay for our trip and they updated us regularly. Although our week was difficult due to the weather we will definitely be going again as the whole thing was a good experience from beginning to end. Cheers Mehdi . . . . . It was a pleasure. Snigle bit of fake corn and a washed out pink popup were to the only things to work, everything else was tried with no success. All the bites came in the morning.

Yes, loved the hut, everything was really nice & clean, and working. The fridge and freezer were a god send in the heat, as well as the outside tap!

General Comments:

Record breaking temps didnt make it a easy week, with the day we arrived being 40c. The week cooled off a bit but only down to 30c. With high pressures, the fish were just not feeding, no amount of bait could tempted them. A super hard week with the weather but this made the bank life amazing, with it being late 20s till 2200, and stunning sunrise/sunset every day. No one blanked, but would have loved a bit more action. Mehdi is a amazing host, who has so much knowledge of the lake, and how to grow some giant veg! Will be booking to come back to catch some of the amazing fish we know this venue holds!

Details of your catches:

I think there were approximately 17 fish caught on our trip. Unfortunately we blanked on our swim, due to very high temperatures and spawning activity. The fish that were caught were in tip top condition, there just weren’t any fish in front of us.

We tried everything, but caught nothing. This would not stop us returning to this beautiful venue
