About the Lake
Le Repaire is a tree-lined gravel pit with a wild charm, measuring in at 3.7 acres and rectangular in shape. A large island with mature trees sits in the middle of the lake and the margins are wild and overhanging, giving you plenty of features to fish to.
The cabin sits to one end and this is where you'll also find the main large double swim, easily accommodating two anglers. It is gravel based and has a step down towards the water's edge. There's also a further gravel swim about two thirds of the way up the lake, giving you access to the back of the island.
Depths are good, reaching around 1.8 meters, although this can of course fluctuate depending on the time of year.
As with many French lakes, crayfish are present, more so in the hotter months. It’s best to be prepared just in case, and we recommend you use tiger nuts, take shrink wrap for your hookbaits or use plastic baits - you can find lots of information here for combatting crayfish in France. With these simple measures in place, they should cause you no problem.
Vehicle access is very good, with a large gravel area to park directly beside the cabin and main swim. The lake is well fenced and gated for added peace of mind.
