At last we stock a 50lb+ fish at Lillypool!, 1st Nov
We've been after a fish of above 50lb for a while now, but they are as rare as hens teeth.
Finally I got the phone call on Tuesday night to say she was on her way. It was a cold wet night, but at 8.30pm I had the pleasure of seeing her in the oxygenated tank and then carrying her the short walk to the lakes edge. After confirming her weight at 51lb, taking photos and a video, I got into the water for one last shot before letting her gently slip into her new home.
For those of you already booked here next year, good luck in your quest. I look forward to seeing her again in the spring with a bottle of bubbly going to the first lucky angler.
Pics & video to follow very soon.

A new kid on the pool!, 1st Sep
This week was a slow start for the lads. But they were not put off & confident they were going to catch they started to feed around 1kg of boilies per day each... at which point the carp turned on... & they began to take fish after fish.
Aaron found the fish just of the pads at the back of the island. 7 fish caught until Wednesday, then it happened... 10 fish between midnight and breakfast!
But the surprise was Clint, normally a match fisherman and new to carp fishing. Up to now he's had 7 fish all over 20lb and all new pb's the biggest of which went 31lb and a new 30lb fish for Lillypool.
Not to forget Dad - he also had fish to 27lb+.
Well done lads, nice to see boilies can outfish pellet. The lads left this sat the 18 Sept morning, having caught 34 fish in total,15 of which came to Aaron in the last two days. For a young angler of 22 he was very clued up.
Well done lads and thanks for the Chinese and the hangover!

Fish on the move..., 1st Sep
Hi all, although there are no anglers on this week, I've kept the bait going in and the fish are showing freely all over the lake.. something they don't normally do. I can only assume they are feeding up for the winter.
Due to work, I've not had chance to get the rods out, but looking forward to this weekend. Fishing and shooting, it's not a bad life if you can get it! A word to anyone thinking of a late holiday... bring some winter gear, we've had our first frost at the weekend.

A progress report from Jason..., 1st Jul
Following the stockings at Lillypool I was personally unsure as to what to expect from the lake and its visitors.
We have all been very pleased with the results so far, with all fish putting on weight, some more than a few pounds. Fishing slowed a little due to two spawnings and a bonkers 37 degrees. The weather has now cooled and I fully expect the fish to go on the munch. A lot of the 30’s have been reluctant to show of late, but I won’t be surprised to see another one out having touched the magical 40lb mark.
Quest Bait over pellet is still producing the goods, with Chilli Choc and Rahja Spice being favourites.
I would like to thank everyone who has fished and shared sometimes more than a few beers and laughs with me at Lillypool.
