Yes, fantastic facilities with lots of space to chill and eat and relax as well as fish. The fridges, freezers and cooking area were great, everything worked as it should and the shower/toilet facilities were better than we were expecting, very clean, spacious and comfortable.

Yes, you can see that the owner really has put time into making this lake special.

Yes, the lake is awesome. You can see that the water is crystal clear, finding fish was very interesting in the boat you can hire and the facilities are great.

A superb venue with great uncaught fish potential, the owner Nigel is superb fun and nothing is too much trouble, can't wait to return

Details of your catches:

Despite the daytime temperatures often hitting 40c we still managed over 40 fish between us (mostly night bites). The highlights of the trip being an uncaught 45lb male common, stocked from Euro Aqua and a 42lb mega dark original common, amongst numerous 30’s and high 20’s plus a sprinkling of cats to around 35lb. Had the weather been on our side I’ve no doubt we could have doubled our catch rate.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We split our group up into 3 lads fishing the North bank and 2 fishing the Woodside in an effort to keep the fish moving about. Boats, in our opinion, were invaluable in finding clear spots and fish feeding areas. The lake itself, although in its infancy in terms of stocking, has a much different experience to offer than most other ‘regular, fish to the far marginal and catch pale stocked carp’, as is often the case in France. It is basically a wild gravel pit with weed, clear spots, marginal snags etc. Along with the really dark original fish and the high-quality Euro Aqua stocked (which are already darkening due to the clear water) this place will be mega in the coming years.

General Comments:

We have just returned from an amazing 7 day stay at Lac De Souvenirs, we were 5 anglers with ages ranging from 20 to 49. Nigel the owner is a fantastic host, he has the people skills to quickly work out if you are social anglers or the type who likes to keep themselves to themselves. He offers a great balance of advice if you want it, or, to work the lake out on your own. Nothing was too much trouble for him, from shop runs, advice, cooking up particle to just general chats and beers. His passion for his lake and what he wants to achieve here is clearly evident. Having only owned the lake for short period of time, Nigel has a lot of exciting plans for the place going forwards, besides the lovely showers and great social hut which boasts double cooking hob, fridge freezer and food storage space. I have no doubt they will come to fruition soon. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and are rebooking for next year. If you want a difference the different experience than 85% of French carp fishing lakes offer, I would book this place soon. We're back next year chasing the uncaught 50’s/60’s!

Details of your catches:

10 weighed carp over 3 days / 2 nights. Largest was an old dark common at 38lb 6oz. One of the most beautiful fish I've ever seen. Other fish were 25-30lb
