Details of your catches:
Had over 60 fish between us during the week which considering my daughter, Sarah, only fished occasionally is not bad as a number of the fish were still spawning. Biggest fish of the week was caught by Sarah on the first evening. Caught on a single piece of sweet corn on the Pole under the willow tree outside the lodge. It weighed in at 28 pounds 4 ozs, unbelievable catch on a £25 pole and somewhat embarrassing for the rest of us with carp rods and pods. Smallest carp was 11lbs, (caught be me of course) but vast majority were high teens with several well into the twenties. All of us had our personal best Carp whilst on this trip plus a few Tench to 7lbs. All the fish in good condition and fighting fit but you need to locate them to ensure consistent catches.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Method or single baits fairly close to the margins was the most consistent method. Bait could be anything from strawberry boilie to single grain of sweetcorn, pellet and meat. Location ,location, location as Estate agents say was the most important factor. If you see the fish crashing out of the water regularly fish in that area. Most consistent peg was the last one in the avenue of trees producing almost half the fish caught during this week and all close in. We took loads of pellets and particles but heavy baiting had little effect on the catches and I wouldn’t bother again on this venue. Most of the fish caught during the daytime even though it was very hot. Early mornings and nights were not any better than middle of the day.

General Comments:
Super Family venue in a clean very well equipped Gite in the heart of the French countryside. A lovely swimming pool to ourselves all week. Very peaceful location with every facility. The host Family are lovely people who try to do everything to ensure you have a good stay but dont intrude. Family loved this venue and we will be back.

Details of your catches:
Fish were spawning all week but still managed to catch some nice fish. Both of us had PB's, Sandy caught a magnificent 31lb 9oz common, i'm not jealous at all, said pinocchio.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
All baits we used caught, trigger pop ups and the 20mm strawberry boilies from the local supermarket worked best though. Fished mainly from the bank next to the lodge, and in the margins (beware of snags)
