Details of your catches:

Not so good this time, we left 3 days early 1 catfish and only 3 carp no bites in the day it was very cold at night next time we go it will need to be a lot warmer as the fish just weren’t feeding

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We tried everything but the fish were not interested no one’s fault. It happens, that’s why it’s called fishing and not catching

Were the facilities what you expected?

All same as last time owner were nice as before just the fish didn’t like us this time

Were you happy with them?

All good not happy the fish didn’t want to play lol

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Good place to come if it’s warm

Details of your catches:

54 fish landed, around 80 hooked. Biggest carp 44lb, biggest cat 115lb. Loads of fish and tackle lost due to previous mentioned fence in swim 7. This is not just one hole but several where the wood posts have broken. If you own a lake with massive snags like this it should be barbless hooks only due to the risk of tethered fish.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

White pop ups on helicopter rigs. The silt on the far margin in swims 5&6 is deep so tackle up accordingly. Don't fish with less than 30lb line if you are after the cats as they go straight into the tree roots.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, previous reports said its very basic and they were correct. The showers at the other lake were excellent but they need a bench or similar to sit on so you can get changed without standing on the wet dirty floor. Its a shame there is no electric at the lake as there is a power cable at the entrance.

Were you happy with them?

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Only if the snags are removed and the fence to the out of bounds area is repaired. I accept its the end of the season and the lakes have been busy but they need a good tidying. We found loads of line in the bushes, a broken rod, a broken landing net, drink cans and 10 rigs complete with hooks on the bank, don't walk about in bare feet!!! The lake owner is not responsible for the litter, its the anglers.

General Comments:

Very basic but it works. The Super Market is a fair drive and its closed 12.15 to 14.30 midweek. If you are in swim 7 a barrow would be useful. The far margin is where then fish are and it has numerous fallen trees in the lake, be warned if you go with 15lb line expect to get snapped up every day. Two lovely kingfishers and some unusual rats that climb trees!!

Details of your catches:

50+ fish, approx 10 lost, cats, grassies, mirrors & commons. Cat - 71lb Grassie - 42lb Carp - 38lb

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Any - the reviews all complain of silt but we had no issues - fish caught on spinners, combi rigs, PVA bags, IQ D-rigs, wafters, bottom baits and pop ups

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, The shower block and fridges etc are too far to walk realistically but just a 2 min drive. Yes it's basic but this is drive & survive - what do people want? Fridges are nicely secured and get cold, showers are hot and easily run long enough for a good shower! Take your cool boxes and should only need to visit the fridges once a day when your having a shower to stock up on days food / beer etc!

Were you happy with them?

Yep! - I agree it would be fantastic if there were a shower block and fridges in the adjacent car park but you can't have everything!

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, although be aware that swims 1/2 aren't really suited for 2 anglers, neither are 5/6 and over the lake swim 8 is barely a swim at all! - I wouldn't be happy fishing here with any more than 3 anglers.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Angling Lines – Always fantastic at what they do, would 100% use every time

General Comments:

David was fantastic, never intrusive but always available, the fence on the right side does need addressing - all big fish kite straight toward it and once they're in there's no chance of getting them out. A boat is available for 50 euros but for the fish lost I wouldnt say it would be worthwhile - just be on your rods and play them right (and with a bit of luck!) Previous anglers left cigarette butts, bottle caps and half burnt rods in swim. There is a small Proxima supermarket 10 mins away but better off going to Intermarche in Brou, about 19 mins away - lot more choice and cheaper! *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback, we have spoken to owner Sebasiten who assures us the fence has recently been repaired, however, he will check it again. We apologise for the untidiness of the swim, if you encounter any issues like this please let the owner know straight away.
