Were the facilities what you expected?

The owner said when we got there the cabin was basic, we all thought it was more than that, it was fantastic, that good one off us slept in it and said it was amazing fishing from it. Couldn't fault the pool, the food was outstanding, well worth the money. Overall was a ten out of ten. Especially the owners made you feel at home. Thank you for a great week.

Were you happy with them?

The owners were so so friendly and the food was amazing, we all said we never expected such good food, highly recommend this place, highly recommended it.

Overall I want to thank the owners for an amazing week, not only catching a fare decent amount off fish but for being looked after so so well.

Details of your catches:

All broke our pbs, a little hard week due too spawning but still managed 22 fish biggest being 33.10 but can tell this lake is up and coming definitely!

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

The in house baits worked best from Gary either the cranberry and caviar boilies or the inferno with the particle slip D rigs with a snowman set up trimmed down boilie with trimmed scopex squid pop up underneath they fish seemed to like the colour yellow

Were the facilities what you expected?

The cabin is all you need, great beds shower cooker and running hot water ideal. The food package was excellent from Ange, enjoyed every meal

General Comments:

Gary and Ange were great hosts helped us through out the week, great food and also Gary came down the lake often and gave us tips and had a laugh with us, I was definitely sad to go home at the end of the week had a perfect time loved it

Details of your catches:

Wasn't a great week as the fish had been spawning and still at all week, I myself had 12 fish, biggest was 33lb near fully scaled mirror, the other lads had about another dozen fish between the three of them, the lake would benefit from a 2 week shut down to let fish spawn naturally without angler pressure.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Pva bags with crumbed baits and a few whole boilies worked for me, fish seem to shy away from large baited areas of particle and pellets.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Shower is really tight on the north lake and benefit from a smaller sink to give more room to open shower door.

Were you happy with them?

Yes we managed for our stay, the food packages is what makes this lake, 5* food rating.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes probably for 2 to 3 anglers.

Yes we recommend angling lines regular, have used you for many years, when Bridget used to book our holidays.

General Comments:

Overall a restful week with friends, but a long drive for 20lb fish, 6 and half hours and expensive tolls.

Details of your catches:

Party of four with slightly mixed results. We knew we might be a bit close to spawning and this made it a bit tougher than we expected, but we still all caught, including one of the two catfish and one of the two grassies. Dave had a few 30+ and at least one 40+(he only took small scales!)

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

A mixture of snowmen, ronnies and topped boilies. Kept the feed pretty light

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better, everything we could need (except a coffee percolator which we bought and left for the next user). nice to see essentials such as tea towels and washing up liquid were all supplied

Yep

Definitely. Gary and Ang were perfect hosts and we have already booked to have a go on south lake next year
