About the Lake
Evaro sits alongside the River Aube and is 7.5 acres in size.
As expected of a gravel pit, the average depths here vary between 2.5-4 metres in general with some deeper parts going to 5 metres. In the early season (usually), the lake can be much deeper due to fluctuating water levels. It is mainly a gravel bottom but with the odd silt patch.
You will find plateaus and drop offs aplenty, including a tall plateau central in the lake that rises to just 1m below the surface. Overhanging branches provide excellent margins.
Baitboats and rowing boats are allowed. There are no boats on site but you may bring your own as long as you are also equipped with your own life jackets (which must be worn at all times).
There is some weed present, snags are generally not an issue unless water levels rise significantly. There are no poisson chat and the presence of crayfish has not yet been seen, but as the lake is close to the river we'd be suprised if there weren't a few.
There are two large gravelled double swims and one multi-stepped gravel double swim (and if you book the lake exclusively you have use of a further single swim too). If you are a single angler, you would have to pay the full price for a double swim (2 anglers).
All swims are accessible by vehicle if the ground isn't too wet. The venue is fenced with a lockable gate.
Parking at swims & campervans
The access track to the lake means that it is not possible to accommodate vehicles/campervans over LWB Sprinter size.
Smaller campervans (up to LWB size) can be parked at swim 1.
Guiding Service
A guiding service is available to help new or inexperienced anglers coming to Evaro. This will be 10 hours helping you locate feeding fish or finding spots, rigs, bait and fish care for big fish and hopefully how to get the best picture to take home with you. Price for this is €50 for one or €80 for two. Parties will get a discount.
To pre-book the guiding service please contact the bailiff direct. The bailiffs email address & phone number can be found on the directions sheet which will be made available to you in your Customer Area on our website when your holiday has been paid for in full.
