General Comments:

Needs some serious snag management, lots of open water snags. Not to mention the margins, like a jungle in there, many fish lost. Also cheeky making you pay for a boat when the owners know it’s necessary to remove fish and tackle from snags to prevent hooks being left in fishes mouths. Also lots more bream than advertised, saw hundreds on the drone!

General Comments:

Excellent venue, but be prepared to fish 50 yard+ in every peg. Fishing under 80 yards not always productive, bailiffs very helpful and friendly. Generally great venue, this is our 5th visit

Details of your catches:

41 fish in total, 4 in their 40s, 10 in their 30s and the remaining under 30lb. Largest was a 47.4lb Mirror. Other notable catches were a Koi at 19lb and a grass carp at 32lb.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

We mainly used snowman of various flavours of 20mm boilies with yellow pop-ups. But also caught on tigernuts, tigernuts with fake corn and single wafters, but these seemed to attract the smaller subjects so we opted for the larger offerings. We baited fairly heavily as the lake had seen low occupancy and thought this would be a good approach. Used the lake supplied mix and added tigernut crush, hemp and boilies.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, been here before so knew what to expect and now a second toilet... our prayers were answered.

Were you happy with them?

Yes. Plenty of freezer and fridge space and the facilities are adequate for this level of lake.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

yes. We actually met with an Angling Lines representative who was actually visiting and checking the lake and discussing with the clients there. Was very impressed by the attention to detail, the knowledge of the representative and just the general overall level of customer care shown by the team at Angling Lines.

General Comments:

We had seen many comments about the dead fish at this lake. We were actually here last year just after the spawning and there were a number of dead fish, which we since learnt is fairly common, to what levels I'm unsure. But we did not see any on this visit and catching 40+ fish with 4 being over 40lb the stock still seems to be pretty healthy.
