Mas Bas Lotus Lake Facilities

Mas Bas Lotus Lake offers a basic furnished lakeside house that ideally sleeps 4. The main selling point here though is the beautiful lakeside terrace looking out to the lake and valley beyond.

There is a lovely 11 x 5 m swimming pool open all season (depth of 1m45 the whole way across, not heated) set in lawned grounds just 25 meters from the house. It is open from June to September and sits beside a badminton net and boules area for guests to enjoy.

There is also wifi available and guests report no problems with this, however please do bear in mind that Mas Bas is situated in a valley in the middle of the countryside.

The cottage:

In terms of sleeping arrangements, the cottage has a double room & twin room. There is also an additional mezzanine level, accessed by a quite narrow & steep staircase, which has a double bed and a single bed. However, please note that the mezzanine level is partially open to the landing area so not fully private and not ideal access for younger children (or indeed older adults!).

Downstairs there is the well equipped kitchen where you will find a microwave, gas cooker, fridge and dishwasher. There is also a compact dining area here which leads through to the ground-floor double bedroom with ensuite bathroom, containing a shower, handbasin, w.c. and laundry room with washing machine.

Open stairs out of the kitchen go up to the twin bedroom and the small sitting room which has a sofa and Satellite TV (with basic English channels). Both rooms have French doors onto a walkway/terrace linking directly to the lakeside covered BBQ area and main swim. There is a large bathroom on this level.

Bed linen, including sheets & bathroom towels, is provided. There is also a travel cot available upon request, please let us know before your trip.

It is not possible to keep your rods out whilst sleeping in the accommodation at night. You would need to bivvy up if wishing to night fish so you can be closer to your rods. 

The cottage is connected to the mains water supply, making the water safe to drink. 

Please note: If you require the central heating on an additional charge, 150 € per week, is payable. 

Outside at the front of the house is another terrace, shaded by large weeping willows, with table chairs and BBQ. There is an outside stairway leading back to the lake level and lakeside terrace. 

There is a swimming pool that sits on the opposite side of the house across the lawn. This has sun loungers, a shaded veranda and is open all season.

Fishing equipment:

We provide carp cradles free of charge that we prefer you to use for the safety of our fish. There is a small security deposit for each, which will be returned at the end of the week if everything is okay.

Activities near by:

As well as the facilities on site, there is also horse riding and tennis 4kms away. The area is rich in historical interest with neighbouring villages dating back to the 12th century; the main towns of Agen (20 mins away) and Villeneuve-sur-Lot (30 mins away) provide this exceptionally tranquil area with hustle and bustle, colourful markets, good shopping and excellent restaurants. 

The closest villages, Beauville and Laroque have garages, banks, chemists, bakers and very reasonably priced, good country restaurants. The distance from the venue to the local shops is 5.8km (approximately 10mins drive). There are larger shops 15 and 25 mins drive away.  

Mas Bas offers an almost unbeatable combination of great carp fishing and french ambiance, which proves very popular for both families and groups of anglers seeking big carp with a few home comforts right on hand.

Important note; Guests are asked to pay a security deposit on arrival which is fully refunded when the cottage is left clean & tidy with no breakages.
