Details of your catches:
There was just the 2 of us and we only used 2 rods from the stage near the house and caught many carp varying from mirrors, commons and grass carp. Our biggest fish was a mirror weighing in at 33lb 12oz. No little nuisance fish!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
We used a bait boat with pellet and boiles. We baited up the same spots for consistency and it paid off. Hook bait was pop up boiles, we used all colours but pink was the most popular
Were the facilities what you expected?
The accommodation was amazing! Very comfortable with all the amenities you need, especially the dishwasher and a washing machine for cleaning all those fishy clothes! The setting and privacy was amazing being tucked away, and watched all the wildlife from the pergola. The pool was lovely but very cold, even for me!
Were you happy with them?
The hosts Gillie and Theo were very welcoming and friendly and were always contactable if you needed them. They were very discreet.

Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes - fantastic! The house, outdoor space and lake all being so close together made it perfect for a family holiday and included those who weren’t fishing!
Were you happy with them?
Yes, very. Beds super comfy and everywhere very clean. Ample space for the 3 of us!
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, the rural location made it a perfectly relaxing break with local shops only a 10 min drive away. Gilles could not have been more helpful!

Details of your catches:
Mostly Grass Carp up to 20lb to be honest, a mix of mirror carp up to 15lb. I wasn't fishing full time and I think the grass carp weren't giving the other carp much of a chance to get their heads down!
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Stalking with freelined bait up the top end of the lake around the islands early morning or late evening was really enjoyable and got me past the grass carp. Casting a single or double large bottom bait boilie to a feature such as fallen tree or overhanging bushes either side of the lake from the house worked really well, grass carp were smashing them really quickly and were attracted to the noise if anything. Tight to the margins didn't generate a lot of bites.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, absolutely no problem.
Were you happy with them?
Perfectly happy with the facilities, the kids absolutely loved spending their time in the swimming pool.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, as long as you don't need to fish and keep an eye on the swimming pool at the same time it's perfect. I wasn't fishing full time and just fitting it in around days out with the kids etc so the fishing was a side activity to a family holiday. The cottage was nice and peaceful with plenty of outside space to enjoy. The barbecue and dining area by the lake was perfect for the evenings.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Yes definitely.

Details of your catches:
Caught so many carp I lost count! Only fishing a few hours a day and mostly just using 1 rod the action was electric! Biggest carp for me was 28lb but If I had spent more time fishing I may have got into some of the bigger ones. I caught a good mix or mirrors, commons, koi and grass carp.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Using the bait boat fishing to the fallen tree and the far bay to the left. You can't use too much bait here, I tried putting 10kg over a rod so I could have some lunch but it went in 8 minutes! Brilliant fun :) double wafters and double tiger nuts were both equally as effective.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The house and facilities here are fantastic. The house is fully equipped and has really comfortable beds and pillows! The kitchen has absolutely everything you need and having a bath and 2 showers is a real treat when you're fishing! It also has a washing machine! :) The pool is large and has a great area around it to chill out or play games. The main swim on the lake has a covered seating area which is lovely if you want to stay out of the sun and also has the benefit of having lights and power sockets so you can keep your devices charged up in the swim. Great for people like me who need to do work from the bank.
Were you happy with them?
Nothing to fault here the facilities are perfect and has everything you need
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

General Comments:
This lake is perfect for anglers looking for lots of action and/or to improve or gain experience with their fishing. The fishing is very fun and had me cracking up multiple times when the rod ripped off in my hand before even getting the bait boat back to the bank. The facilities are fantastic for larger groups and families but equally as good for a few mates or a couple looking for the best of both worlds. The local area is stunning and there are lots of market towns and beautiful walks to explore if you venture out. Gilles and Sharon are really nice people and went above and beyond showing me the local area and markets at the weekend, amazing views and beautiful old historical walks. A really nice time at Mas Bas Lotus Lake.
