Details of your catches:
Managed 97 fish in all made up of the following... Commons: 10x doubles, 15x 20s, 1x30 Mirrors: 6x doubles, 18x 20s, 17x 30s, 2x 40s, 1x 53lb 8oz Grass carp: 3x doubles, 18x 20s, 2x 30s, 1x bream 1xpike 3x koi, biggest 26lb Total weight for the week. 2441lb Fishing was pure carnage most of the time with numerous double takes. Like others that have fished Mas Bas it’s difficult to use more than one or two rods due to the amount of runs that occur. Fished mainly mornings and late afternoon into the evening. No nights fished.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Snowman baits. Long stiff German rigs. Used 30kg boilies mix of krill, manilla, scopex squid in 20-22mm
Were the facilities what you expected?

Details of your catches:
56 carp - common, grass mirror and koi caught over the week. Fished mornings and evenings. Such a fantastic venue, especially as it is exclusive. Biggest was 47.5lb, majority over 30lb, all in superb condition.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Best baits were supplied by Gilles who is now my favourite French man. A bait boat is a must if fishing to the margin on the far bank, simple rigs work well, no need for anything complicated.
Were the facilities what you expected?
kitchen was great all you needed for your stay. We loved the outside space and ate and sat out all the time.
Were you happy with them?
Gilles and Sharron were fantastic nothing too much trouble, and if you want to know about the fishing ask Gilles and he will put you on them.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Had a fantastic holiday, the fishing is great, but also lots to explore in the area and numerous shops all within a short drive from the house.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Most definitely absolutely
General Comments:
Have already booked to go back next year, I think that says it all.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Fishing to Far Margins with straight boilies by using a bait boat dropping bait and rig close to the bank. Fish were taking along whole length of far margin. Fishing was only during the day and no fishing at night. At times when the lake went quiet we let the lake rest for a few hours which was very beneficial. Also stalking with dog biscuit bait along the far ends of the lake was good fun and able to catch some fish on the surface whilst resting the majority of the lake. Rigs mainly used were Spinner Rigs and Ronnie Rigs with pop ups. We did not fish the middle of the lake at all and only fished the margins with good catches on most days apart from one day where it was very quiet but let the lake have a rest. If you are casting rather than using a bait boat then due muddy bottom you need to make sure you have a longer hook length to present bait to the fish. Majority of fishing was from in front of the main house which was perfect spot to be set up at but we also did most afternoons move to the jetty to rest half the lake and fish from the jetty to the far bank and willow trees which worked well. There is no need to fish during the night and no need for Bivvys ro Day/Night Beds as the accommodation is superb. At all times if you have any worries then Gilles is always available to give you tips and help with tactics on the lake.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The facilities were way better than we were expecting and could not fault them in any way. The lake is set in the most fantastic location in stunning surroundings and is idyllic and beautiful and superbly maintained with very healthy stock of fish. The area around the lake is well maintained and just a perfect setting for a group whether fishing or not. The house is fantastic with everything you need provided for and makes it a really special location to be fishing or their relaxing or working!! Gilles, the owner, was a great help and was always making sure we had everything you need. In Laroque Timbaut there is a great supermarket where you can get everything you need and more.
Were you happy with them?
We were more than happy with the lake, the house and the surroundings. A very special spot which is worth driving the extra miles for.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Could not recommend Mas Bas Lake more, my son and I had a truly amazing week and we would not change anything about the week, the venue and the surroundings. Absolutely Perfect.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Angling Lines from start to finish have been a wonderful company to work with and could not recommend them more to friends, family and anyone looking to experience carp fishing in France. They are a very professional and efficient outfit which will make sure you get the perfect Carp Trip.
General Comments:
I am struggling to come up with anything that can be a negative on this trip, Mas Bas and the support of Gilles and the organising by Angling Lines is absolutely faultless and would be delighted to recommend it to anyone looking for a fishing holiday in France. You will not be disappointed so suggest you get Mas Bas booked into your diary as soon as you can.
