Old Oaks latest stocking news! , 1st May
There is a new addition at Old Oaks and it's a little smaller than the usual leviathan residents! No it's not a carp, nor indeed one of Mehdi's giant vegetables, but Caroline has given birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy, weighing in at just over 9lb.
Mehdi says he simply could not be happier at the addition of a little brother for Sohan, whom they have called Ismaël. So for those travelling out soon, make sure your sunglasses are ready as Mehdi's brilliant smile is bound to be even bigger!
So a heartfelt 'CONGRATULATIONS' from all of us here at Angling Lines and I'm sure the hundreds of Anglers who know Mehdi personally.

Pegs have been repaired, 1st Feb
Between winter and summer the water level at Old Oaks goes up and down. This natural phenomenon has eroded a couple of the pegs, as mentioned by some anglers in their feedback.
We have just finished the work to repair them all. We first added first plenty of big stones to stabilize the bottom and then we covered it with a sandy/gravel top soil. Now they are flat and safe. I'd suggest anglers use banksticks, but switch to a rod pod from July when the ground will get hard as it's baked by the sun.

2010 season round-up, 1st Nov
The fishing at Old Oaks this season has been really good. Many anglers have beaten their Pb's and caught many good carp with an average weight of over 30lb across the whole season.
This season we've had excellent carp growth rates showed by the many forties caught. The lake record common stands at 47lb & different mirrors have been landed at 42lb, 43lb, 44lb... with a new lake record at 46lb. The last big mirror out was last week at 44lb 8oz by Mr Ferguson's party.

New lake record common!! Again!! , 1st May
Congratulations to Philippe Touchard!!! fishing for only 36h, he landed 9 carp between 30lb and 47lb. The 47lb common was exactly 1m long and fought like mad during 55 min.
All fish caught on Quest Baits Fruity Trifle on a bed of Old Oaks partiblend.
