Details of your catches:

10 x Sturgeon (Owner says there are only 4 in the lake 10 x Bream 1 x Tench 1 x Rat 60 x Carp, best 33lbs

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

They took anything and everything I threw at them

Were the facilities what you expected?

Yes, basic but adequate, I did suggest some more coat hooks in the shower unit, and maybe a chair/stool would be handy.

Were you happy with them?

Yes, don't expect the 'Ritz' on a fishing holiday

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, if they wanted to catch numbers of fish and the way they feed they are bound to grow

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

I've recommended you to all my friends, now round to recommending your services to strangers

General Comments:

Nice venue, helpfull Owner, lots of fish and some pretty Commons too, just need to be a little bigger and that will happen as they are hungry.

Details of your catches:

40 fish caught: 4 sturgeon to 30lb+, 5x30lb plus carp the remainder of the fish were mostly 20lb+ with a lot in the 27lb to 29lb weight range.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Used quality bait’s HG42 boilies, which proved very attractive. I found a gravel spot 70yds out in front of peg 7 and just kept the bait going in with a spomb, fishing all 3 rods on a very tight spot, I wanted to concentrate the fish in one area. I baited up after every fish (even in the middle of the night). Over the week I used 25kg of boilies. Rigs were just simple hair rigs. I tried baiting with pellets one night, but after a sturgeon and 3 bream I gave up for the night. I didn’t use another pellet all week and I never caught another bream.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Better

Were you happy with them?

Yes. Venue would benefit from a freezer.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Definitely

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes, service is always very professional.

General Comments:

I only fished 4.5 nights as the action was very hectic at times (I had 2 fish on at a time on several occasions and had three runs together on once) and I needed my beauty sleep. Resting the swim some nights gave instant action next morning as the fish were queuing up for the bait. If you want a water with lots of action and the chance of a big one then this venue is ideal. The lake is picturesque and there are some interesting underwater features. I didn’t want to go home!

Details of your catches:

I caught 3x30lb sturgeon and 26carp with 3 mirrors being of 33lb 4oz, 32lb 4oz, 32lb 7oz and a common of 30lb 1oz, with the rest being a mixture of commons and mirrors, mostly in the upper twenties.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

I was using a mixture of Quality baits HG42 and HG47 in 18mils. I moved on 4 occasions during the week to keep up with the roaming fish. In total I got through over 25kilo of boilies, with no particle or pellet used. Most of the fish came off bottom baits with a few off bright yellow pop ups.

Were the facilities what you expected?

The shower facilities are excellent with hot water anytime of day or night along with a cold water tap to top up your water containers.

Were you happy with them?

Yes.

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes as this certainly is a water that it is possible to have a large weekly catch of over 30+ carp when the weather conditions are right.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

Since my last visit in the summer of 2011, the banks have matured and the swims are great with adequate room for at least 10 of them to be classed as doulble swims. This venue will be a top big fish water in the future as all the fish are big framed and just waiting to bang on the weight. Can I just say well done to Jim Kelly as he had 40 fish by midday on Friday, a brilliant result and excellent fishing.

Details of your catches:

658lb of fish caught. 5 x Sturgeons to 36lb, Carp - 5 x 30's to 35lb, 12 x 20's and 2 x doubles.

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:

Started the week with far too much particle and pellet. Then had some great advice from Paul Cooper and Jim Kelly on bait selection. We changed to HG42 and HG47 from Quality Baits and that's when we really did well. Thanks for the tips guys, it really paid off. Fantastic bait.

Were the facilities what you expected?

Fairly basic facilities of Shower and Toilet, but what I expected from a "drive and survive" weeks fishing

Were you happy with them?

Yes

Would you recommend the venue to a friend?

Yes, a beautiful lake, that has some stunning fish. Sebastian, the Lake owner comes round daily, but leaves you alone. We like this.

Would you recommend the services to a friend?

Yes

General Comments:

While we were fishing, we had 3 of the Angling Lines field testers there. They gave us great advice and tips on catching fish. We eventually moved swims on Paul and Jims advice and it was the best thing we did. Thanks again guys.
