Details of your catches:
What a fantastic venue, it doesn't get much better than Brie, 2 well spaced swims in a beautiful setting with plenty of room, and so peaceful you can here a pin drop. I fished peg 1 at the dam end and had 66 carp over the week which included 4 x 50's and 25 x 40's, the water levels were down a bit but certainly didn't affect the fishing, they were even feeding in almost 40 degrees, I could of caught more but refrained from fishing the nights as the days were too hot to sleep.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
I used a mix of boilie pellet and particle, over 90kg used over the week
Were the facilities what you expected?
They are adequate so no complaints there

Without a doubt

General Comments:
This time of year a lot of the french lakes suffer a bit with water levels, don't let this put you off, there are always slightly deeper gulleys and holes if you take the time to look for them, I had runs from the margins in under 18 inches of water the fish don't seem to care

Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Boilies, particle, helicopter rigs to deal with 4" silt and clay bottom. Lots of bait(couldn't give them enough). Don't be put off by the depths. 2-3 feet max(worried us at first). Fish are in absolutely superb condition.
Were the facilities what you expected?

Details of your catches:
Mark: 19 carp to 46.1, 3 other 40's (all commons) and 7 30's, plus one koi; 6 grass carp: 27.6, 27.8, 34, 41, 42.15, 47.11 Simon: 10 carp, biggest 47.14 (common), 4 30's We also had 7 tench and 4 pike (on boilies); 3 of teh tench were 6's, biggest 6.13
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Scattered boilies all over each day plus spotted pellets in front of the swim. Fished boilies on fluorocarbon D rigs. bottom baits, wafters, snowmen all worked. Most fish caught during the day. Started to catch from areas baited with pellets during second half of the week. We both fished swim 2 but baited swim 1 and each fished it one day only during the day, catching 6 fish in total. There is no silt, but the bottom is covered in a thin layer of very soft clay; light leads (2oz) prevented leads sticking.
Were the facilities what you expected?
Yes, facilities were very good
Were you happy with them?
Yes, the showers have plenty of room and lots of hot water; there is a large fridge and a freezer. The toilet between the swims is clean and has a nice wooden seat. Its only a short walk from the lake to the facilities.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
Yes, definitely

General Comments:
This a great venue for anglers looking for absolute peace and quiet. Swim 2 has a kingfisher that visits the tree to the left of the swim every evening and poses for photos! All fish are in excellent condition. Shops are only a few minutes away.

Details of your catches:
26 fish between two anglers fishing towards the middle and back of the lake. Fishing pegs 1 and 2.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
Wafter hookbaits, fished over broken and crumb boilie with a slop mix. Sweet baits worked best particularly DNA Milky White dumbell wafters.
Were the facilities what you expected?
We found the facilities below average. Indeed not adequate for an exclusive lake booking. The fridge and freezer are both dirty and need to be replaced. No washing up facility. The two showers seem pointless without curtains. *Angling Lines note* Thank you for your feedback. We have spoken to the owners and they already have plans in place to upgrade the facilities this winter, they will also be tidying up the swims.
Were you happy with them?
Need urgent attention.
Would you recommend the venue to a friend?
I would like to say yes, but on balance neither of us could, with good conscience recommend the lake.
Would you recommend the services to a friend?
Its a difficult situation as Angling Lines can only feedback to their fisherman clients if information comes from the lake owners. We had to chase everyone to find out the lake conditions, we had a mad few days deciding if the water levels where indeed too low to fish properly. Angling Lines did offer us another possible solution but with others, this isn't what we enjoy, so opted to stay with our booking. On Balance we would recommend Angling Lines.
General Comments:
We caught fish, which where all in good condition, apart from one or two scraps. Not much fight in any of them due to the water levels being 2.5ft all over, try as we might with the boat, marked depth and all over we couldn't find any deeper. Our advice would be, choose an area, spread bait lightly but regularly and the fish will find it. The swims are tired and there is a rodent problem which needs dealing with. Mark the bailiff is a nice guy, he will give you good advice, however Brie appears to be the bottom run of their lakes. Overall we can only judge the venue if we would go back, which we would if the facilities where improved, better water levels and the rodent issue dealt with.
