Details of your catches:
My son caught 2 and I (Roy) lost 6 in the snags... We fished swim 3. Biggest was a 40lb and a 42lb.
Your best tactics/bait/rigs:
The fish were feeding but it was around 36 degrees all week. We learned a lot in that week. We have booked to go back in 2024. I'd say use/take pellets. The lakes salmon based pellets, really dark ones. Use pink pop ups and fish around the posts. The bailiff says his favourite swim is swim 5. He says there are less fish caught there but you tend to get the biggest! Snags are a big part of this lake and you really have to be on your rods and walk backwards to get them away from the snags.
Were the facilities what you expected?
The only disappointing thing was the power, it was in the facilities but not on our swim. We loved the bailiff (Clermont) he lives on site, and is really helpful, all round a great guy. He was pedantic re the parking of vehicles and what you were using as rigs. He checked them regularly. So make sure you stick to the rules.
Were you happy with them?
Clean but limited freezer space. Luckily there is a SuperU supermarket just down the road.

General Comments:
Stunning venue. Roomy pegs with well set boundary markers give every peg plenty of water to fish to. Each peg has its own features. Big fish and a great stock of carp. The weather didn't help as the temperature went below zero followed by rain and gales up to 45mpg. Still loved our time there and already thinking about how we'll tackle this venue when we return.
