News from Laroussi lake
Nov 2014
Some News, 9th Nov
As the winter is arriving, the end of the season is soon here.
The carp are packing on weight for the cold months and so it's a good time for some big catches.
Richard, part of John Kursey's party, had the pleasure of landing a strong 65lb mirror. They also met some other good fish - the awesome Ghost common at 48lb 10oz, a 48lb grass carp and a good number of decent fish.
Last week, despite the very hard conditions again (0 Wind all week, high pressures) a few good fish came out including a 64lb!
Finally, this week, weather has changed again suddenly, from flat calm to very windy (80km/h all day), from sunny and warm to cloudy and cooler and from high to low pressure. Tough conditions but should be better and better now. First fish out this week is a 50lb mirror.
No signs of frost for a long time, so still plenty of big fish feeding for a few weeks.
Tight Lines!

Autumn Updates, 22nd Oct
Grass Carp
I removed many last year and this season I have spent plenty of time removing them one by one as soon as angler land them. It consumes a huge amount of time but it pays. I have removed about 50+ of them just this season.
It is always difficult to find a balance, they do a very important job in the lake, I will restock baby ones, they dont get caught when they are very small and clean the weed really well.
Re-Stocking
I have planned to restock some new carp at Laroussi, a few dozen of a young fast growing strain, twenties, these will grow on quickly. That will push the big resident ones to be more active to eat and bring new fresh blood for the future.
A 65lb'er!
Last week 4 anglers landed 25 fish. Biggest one was a 65lb mirror! Pictures to follow.
