Runs Caught on Camera, 15th Sep

Respected anglers and Laroussi regular Roy van Goor has had a successful week again! He even managed to capture a couple of the runs on camera. Here's the result;

Fishing Update, 1st Sep

Fishing has been good for the last 4 weeks now, many forties and fifties up to 60lb. Last week, a 62.2lb came out and a 53lb!

Weather has been cold, wet and grey and windy, ideal for fishing but now it's very sunny and warm again.

New world record tench!, 1st Jun

Jason Gardiner son and father had an awesome week at Laroussi.

They landed 52 fish together!!!!

50lb+ carp, 50lb Grass carp and a new world record tench at 15lb4oz !

Winter Improvements and Fishing News , 22nd May

Here's the latest news from Laroussi,

A lot of works have been done around the lake. We cropped trees around each peg, offering much more room for casting and setting the bivvy. A few underwater snags on the side of the pegs have been removed too. The whole 500m track of Laroussi has been cropped on both side. All of the cropped branches and trees were then mulched and spread on some pegs.

Another 4 tall poplars (from 28 to 32m high) cut down along the road. The 100m conifers edge was cropped on both side to allow the cars to drive in without any problems. Track holes have also been refilled with gravel.

Concerning the facilities - we repainted them, reduced the pressure of the tap water to avoid the splashes, refixed strongly the cabin door, changed the toilet seat and installed a useful wooden structure to support the charging batteries or whatever you need to plug in. We installed a new air extractor to push out the moisture when you take a shower. Just outside the cabin, we placed a nice picnic table for anglers wanted to sit together to eat. We bought a new machine to desinfect the facilities each week, no chemicals, just hot water works really well.

We removed the older logs situated in each swim and replaced them with fresh ones. Each peg has 3 new big logs (without bottle tops)

And now for the fishing! Many many big fish out so far, huge amount of forties, fifties and sixties. 2 new sixties out last week at 61lb and 62lb (were 57lb and 58lb last year)

Some rare fish out too, the fantastic 35lb 4oz zip Linear at her maximum weight caught by Paddy Ramsden, Paddy had a super week with 24 fish including 5 forties, a 54lb8oz, 5 tench averaging 9lb with a 10lb4oz and a 13lb3oz, some good grass carp and sturgeon. The unique Ghost common was out last week at his maximum ever weight at 48lb4oz!

Second best tench of the lake landed at 11lb4oz by John Allen's Party. John was surprised to land a special resident carp, nothing massive but a beauty, a fully scaled Zip linear!

During 4 weeks of april, 200 fish have been landed. Only catfish so far at 80lb, waiting for the 6 monsters all over 100lber, and the record one caught 2 years at 165lb, should be about 180lb now. The record sturgeon was caught early april but the angler didnt weigh it, he said it was too big for him! But estimated the specimen between 75 and 80lb. (Lake record stands at 73lb12oz)

As last year, We decided to remove some grass carp (only 20lbers). Already 10 fish out so far this season, hoping to get another 20 as last year. Biggest one so far is 44lb10oz. Another great fact - the common carp are getting bigger and bigger, severals big ones came out: 49lb6oz, 45lb12oz, 41lb14oz, 41lb, 40lb8oz, 44lb and the ghost one at 48lb4oz .

Carp are spawning since Sunday morning 18th may.
